Just for fun post a non-porn pic.

First off, the pics above do not show Paris, but the outskirts of La Défense in Courbevoie, Puteaux and Nanterre... at most a view from downtown Paris of that area, as in the last one. I you walk IN Paris you do not see anything of that, or barely: what the pic shows is a taken from a certain height and a particular "focus"
Apart from that, your comment was as valid for Paris in 1900 or in 1750 or in 1500 as it can be valid today.

But the best of it all is that you, even as a joke, find preferable or, at any rate, not different, Le Corbusier's nightmare of razing the CORE of Paris to turn it into something, using your own words, "as anonymous as any other metropolis".

All that being said, the discernment you display in your comments could never disappoint me...

Corbusier's plan would have looked neater than the current mess on the outskirts of the city

Can any of you guess where this is?

BTW, I took this one.

Nope. Part of me wishes I did, though.

That's right. One of the most (in)famous housing estates in the UK.

It is funny how the same sort of housing, dropped in different countries and societies, give totally different and even opposite results: it seems that, in the Czech Republic, commieblocks are very sought after properties and even considered the ideal place in which to dwell and, in Spain, in the equivalent working class developments, people are not isolated from each other by architecture, but maintain an even closer, almost suffocating I would sense, social intercourse..: the herding instinct of Spaniards seems to foster a process in which people tend to concentrate, and concentrate close to the core of a population center, no matter where, and no matter in which housing conditions, which maintains the same sense of family and social relationship irrespective of the material envelope of housing, so that the consequence is that the more ghetto-like communities are those which, inspired on the now in decadence American suburbia model, and with the idea of fleeing and ignoring the problems of crime and living standards chronically associated with city life, end up either fostering those very problems in their own homes, or attracting them because they have not the power of isolation of the ghetto communities of the truly wealthier.
