Just for fun post a non-porn pic.

A modern day example of dazzle painting, a technique used during the Great War (WWI) to camouflage ships in the hope that torpedoes would do as little damage as possible.

This boat is used as a refuge for homeless and drug addicts, who get their methadone there. Before the drugs centre was moored there, they used to cause all kinds of trouble in that and other neighbourhoods. Inhabitants living near the boat opposed the council's policy of having it moored there and it's rumoured they actually managed to sink the boat a week before it was going to be opened.
I found out something interesting last Saturday. Nowadays addicts, beggars and people living in the area have come to an agreement. If they come up to you asking for money all you have to say is that you live in the neighbourhood and they leave you alone....

PS The boat is moored next to the John Frost Bridge in the picture previous to this post

This is one of about twelve lowrise residential and office blocks under construction adding to what already exists in an area known as Century City (Cape Town). The area is also home to a 400 store mall, a theme park, plus a bird sanctury. I live about 6km from here.

Cool pictures! What's the pink cylindrical building on the right? Is it also new construction?

^^^buzzj, the pink building you asked about is part of the shopping mall and houses one or two of the restaurants.

Great pics Wit! Funny thing is that there's a certain Las Vegas/Disney-esque feel to them. I had another look at the previous post and they felt the same. I know it's not the right way to look at them and it should be the other way round, so in that sense I suppose this is where Las Vegas and Disney get some of their inspritation from? ;)

^ always great pics... thanks!

Sigh...I love this stadium. It's one of my favourite buildings. I saw it two years ago from a distance and up close last year. It's every bit as impressive as shown here in the pictures. :=D: Thanks for posting it and_rew ..|
Are the Quebeccers still paying tax for it or has it finally been payed off?

I love that building! It strikes me as some sort of Moorish/Italianate fantasy!

I took a detour on my way to work this morning to take a pic of the starboard side of the boat and the John Frost Bridge. I couldn't remember if the starboard side had dazzlepainting on it or not. I did notice that it has two entrances that are fortified and that drug abusers are let on the boat one by one.

Bridge and boat first. The dazzle painting seems more effective from this angle somehow

The boat is actually named "De Boei" which translates as The Buoy. For some I imagine it is a life buoy.

I love the pictures you have all been showing of the places you live in so here's some more from me. Today I crossed the street from work during lunch and took a few pics of Arnhem south. Across the Rhine there's an area known as Meinerswijk, which is the largest nature reserve inside a city in Holland. It's also known as the lungs of the city (and Arnhem has quite a few lungs).

It's one of the reasons I love it here, it's so incredibly green, especially during summer.
I go there in the summer to swim in one of the man made lakes. The sand and earth that was dug up is/was used to build the dykes along the river and in the filelds herds of Konik horses and Galloway cows are left to graze and look after themself even during winter. I'll have to cross the river and take some pics of Arnhem north which is also very green.
