My friend George sent me these. Tom, a friend of his from Yellowknife, Canada who sent them to him has given me permission to post them for all to enjoy. I have already posted them to my blog but just couldn't resist sharing them here as well. Northern Lights are sheer magic!

Me too!! Are they normally one color as in buttons' pictures?

No they can be different colours from what I gather, depends how high up the atoms from the sun hit the atmoshphere. Green happens around 120 to 180 km high, blue at lower altitudes and reds higher up.
I suppose catching the different colours has to do with how clear the sky is and maybe at which angle you take the pic from? I've noticed that last bit when taking pictures of sunsets, if you take the pic straight on it's almost like the colours are less intense, from an angle it's like they intensify.

Glass floor in the tower allows you to look all the way down again

Nice and green isn't it; about the same colour I had while I closed my eyes, held the camera over the floor and just took the pic.

Wish I could take the fear away as it is such an amazing experience and well worth going up. I hate heights as well but up there I didn't experience them as much. The glass floor however is a nightmare, that really made me feel dizzy, but you get a wonderful view of the city from up high.

Some more...

Although I've been to Paris a few times I haven't been up the Eiffel Tower yet, that's still on the list of things to do, like the London Eye. If all goes well I will do both this year.

I'd love to go up the tower--- but the thought of the glass floor makes me queasy! Thanks for the great pictures! ..|

If you go up the Eiffel Tower as the sun sets you can watch the city light up all around you. Too bad it is the most crowded time but it is worth the effort.

One of the oldest houses of worship in my home town is the local synagogue. It was built in 1891 in a Romanesque Revival style, with some Gothic touches. I love the charming Victorian fence. There is a buttress at each corner, and the buttress caps are made of pressed tin--- each with Stars of David.
