This started out innocently enough when I was in the Eusebius Church. One of the sites worth seeing there is this sarcophagus where Karel van Egmond, Duke of Gelderland is buried.

However this is when I get to the stage where i'm all Bless me father, for I have sinned...

Arnhem again but now from high up in the tower of the Eusebius Church.

Starting with southeast-south this is what Arnhem looks like from 85 meters up

The former Coberco milk factory is still in use but now for artists space and exhibitions. last exhibition I saw there was the Arnhem Fashion Biennale, which will be on later again theis year in June.

The bridge that was a bridge too far, just behind the City Archive and other office buildings

Arnhem is the capital of the province of Gelderland and this is the Provincial State Building, It has some really lovely features and like all government buildings in the Netherlands it does (has?) an Open House once a year.

The only gate left of the original city walls, Sabelpoort (Sabel Gate). I haven't seen it for a while, renovations and restauration work has been going on for the past two years and I can't wait to see it unveiled once more.

The John Frost Bridge. On of Arnhem's 4 bridges crossing the Rhine. The latest to be built, the Pley bridge can be seen in the first pic ^ spanning the meandering river weaving it's way through the landscape.

And to complete the view of the south, this is the view across the river. It's so green and luscious at the moment I feel Arnhem really deserves it's reputation as Park City of the Netherlands.

Even though the pic was took on a hazy day you can still see the city of Nijmegen off in the distance. Nijmegen is the oldest city in Holland at 2000 years old. In Roman times it was know as Novium Magum.
