Over the following days I saw the park with pagoda's being transformed from an island with heaps of rubble and sand into a park with trees, shrubs and green. I don't think it is original as our contact didn't seem to know what it was called and she did mention that a lot of pagoda's like these are being resurrected nowadays.

Our first day in the city, here's an impression of some of the things we saw. One of those typical (?) kitchens where people stop at to eat

You're welcome JL, I love travelling and seeing these things myself as well as the tourist sites.
Going to China was as much about getting to know a bit about the culture as well, especially since we're hoping to go back again in the near future.

LOL, I dunno either, maybe the bedrock wasn't stable and they followed the rock to build on them as foundation.

I'm only 15 minutes from the airport ..|

Only problem is winter has just arrived :eek:
Cape Town has had a lot of wind and rain while large parts of SA have had snow the last few days, so the weather is a little unpleasant at the moment.

But I'm sure the (group) will keep us all warm ;)
