Lanterns mark the way up Snake Hill to the tower...

and The Deferral Pavilion where the poet Li Bai is said to have had the urge to climb the hill to write but on reading the work of Cui Hao he found there, he laid down his brush and said:
"I dare not write anything more facing this beautiful view, for Cui Hao has written the best poem for you."
After that Cui Hao became famous for his poetry and the pavilion was built by his descendants in honour of Li Bai's modesty.

Li Bai's work has been translated and can be found online like this one in two translations.

Cui Hao has been honoured as well in this stone relief enscribed with his poem

There was no fence! You just drive through the camps with your car. I had the window slightly down too to take the pics.
I'm sure they are fed well

I don't often get to see these beautiful beasts, and there were so many of them too.

This reminds me so much of The Netherlands. Especially the way architecture and water are not separate but part of the same environment. There has been a lot of building like that the past years, some even here in Arnhem (like houses that are part of the dikes), where they are planning to build houses on stilts and even houses that float and allow the river Rhine to take it's natural course during the spring when the RHine is at it's highest.
