Okay so after spending the last 9 years of my life in Providence, Rhode Island, I finally pursued my dream to move to San Francisco. I have a few good friends here and someone I am pursuing also lives here... but damn is it hard to make friends when you're not that big into the club scene and going out to bars.

Is there anyone else living in SF here? What are some good suggestions outside of visiting Badlands to meet people?

Rule number 1! stay out of "sadlands". Q-bar is better. I really like hanging in Dolores Park with the hippies.

LOL thanks for the advice.. I went to Badlands once. You're right, it was a shithole. Surprisingly, I joined a camping club and I've been making friends through that... it's pretty amazing the things you can do outside of the club and online!!!

I lived in Rhode Island and spent most times in Providence..

And I wish I was in SF LOOL
;)

Ugh... Providence is so small.. I can't believe I spent 9 years there. EVERYONE knows EVERYONE.... you can't even go on Manhunt or something without spotting a familiar face around town.

I actually just came back from SanFrancisco and was really disappointed by the whole gay scene . It was my first visit to the city and other than the Castro district it was awesome. Funny enough I thought Baclands was mediocre and was told by the door man to watch out for pick pockets. Went to Harvey Milk and saw some ridiculous comedians and then hole in the wall Q something? Im from Chicago and I thought Boystown was lame but boy was I wrong.
