Okay, I don't know if this is Karma, if it is because I am strong enough to handle it or what the fuck is going on, but....

I have calmed down about the brain lesions and having to visit the neurosurgeon, but I just paid my rent and the landlord said that he is putting the house on the market for sale. I understand the reasons for him doing this, but why do I have to have just one more major life event to think about? He has been very good to me and I hope that he gets what he wants for the sale price. He said that he will require a 60 day closing to give all us occupants time to move, and he even said that he will pay for my move. I mean, the guy is very nice and his job is no longer secure and he wants to set himself up to have options available, I totally understand that. It just seems that timing is all off these days, on so many fronts. Okay, my whine is over...... Time to move on to other things. Thanks for listening.

Steve

I've never heard of a landlord paying for a tenant's move. That's fantastic.

My landlord said that he knows that this is a rough time for me right now and that physically I should not be moving furniture and boxes. If I get help witht he TV and my computer station, then I will be happy. Now all I need to do is find an AFFORDABLE place on Cape Cod.

Have you considered moving onto town closer to the hospitals?

Sorry to hear that, but I'm with cousin look at it as an adventure.

Andreus, I am actually on the bus line now and a 5 minute ride from the hospital. As for the Boston Hospitals, that is not possible simply due to the logistics of work and such.

ahhh....

well cape apartments will be easier in a few months to find after the season ends... I hope you find a good place!!

Good Luck and trust that everything is going to work out!

Sending a big hug!

Tx has a point. When we bought this house, the previous owners had a tenant and they asked us if we would keep him. OK, so we said no, but the buyers of your landlord's house may be willing to have a tenant, especially one as nice as you. If that doesn't work, then Andreus is right: once the season is over, you shouldn't have any troubke finding a new place. Good luck!

I know that I have some options open to me, none of which are ideal, but what is? I am going to start looking in the papers for studios and such. I do know that they are going to list this place as an income property, so hopefully they will want the tenants to stay. My landlord said that if I do need to move I do not have to worry about a reference. I am more frustrated than worried about the situation. I have decided that I am not going to rearrange the room this weekend as planned though.

Turn it around, Pegasus.

This is a great opportunity for you to start life anew!

(No, I'm not trying to be pollyannish. It's true!)

Almost everything is going in your favor regarding this move. The current landlord is willing to help you move and pay for your moving expenses. The new landlord may want you to stay.

Yes, definitely explore your options and look to see what's available in your area that you could move to. But, all of the other signs are positive so take your hands off the damn steering wheel of your life and let what's supposed to happen, happen!

Just my 2 cents . . . .

See, that is where the problem lies for me. The steering wheel of my life is the only thing that is keeping me sane at the moment. I am not even really steering as much as trying to control the skid that I have been in for quite some time now. Every once in awhile there is too much happening at the same time. This is one of those times.

My wish is that the new owner keeps the house as a rental unit and that you do not have to move. Otherwise, I wish that I lived closer so that I could offer my assistance if needed. Good luck Steve, you have shown more courage than I ever could.
