Just Saw a GI Doctor and it Turns out I Have no Medical Problems

So as you can see by the title, I saw a GI doctor today and I came out knowing there are no known issues with my GI tract. I find this very surprising considering when he was examining my asshole with his finger and an anoscopy (which, by the way, was a rather rough experience), I felt discomfort on the part of my anus near the tailbone, but said I have no anal fissures. He said the worst thing that was there was internal hemorrhoids, but he said they were so small that there's no need to worry about them. He also said there was no sign of stenosis or scarring. So now I've come to the conclusion that either, a. He didn't check deep enough to notice any scars, or, b. I've been overreacting about my "condition" this whole time and there's really nothing to worry about. That being said, I'm a firm believer of the second speculation, considering he even looked inside, making the first speculation extremely unlikely. What's even stranger, is that I fucked myself with a Dildo twice yesterday, and he still said I was completely fine.

Now, I would like to ask a few questions about the current situation I'm in since I still feel like I'm not as well off as I could be concerning receiving anal sex:

1. I told the GI doctor about my skinny stools and the possibility of me having anal/rectal stenosis. He ruled out any possibility of me having stenosis, and said that the skinny stools can be fixed with more fiber. The thing is, I've already increased my fiber intake over the past few weeks. I've been eating more vegetables and fruits and yet I still have skinny stools. He told me I could take Metamucil and that there's no harm in taking it, so I'm considering buying some now. Is there anything wrong with taking Metamucil?
2. Going back to the pain on my anus, considering I have no external issues but have small, internal hemorrhoids, could the pain be attributed to that? The pain is a sharp/burning pain that happens when I shit too much, wipe my ass too much, or insert my finger in my ass after shitting/wiping too much. The pain also comes up when I fuck myself too roughly or fuck for too long (usually after 30 min).
3. I have this certain view on anal sex where I feel like other guys have no trouble receiving anal sex when I have to go through so many obstacles to get fucked. Recently, I've figured out better ways to better prepare myself to be fucked, but I still feel like I'm doing more work than I could be. I feel like I should be able to receive anal sex whenever I want if I just take care of myself correctly. Is this an unrealistic view of anal sex or can this view be achieved?

After this check up, I realize now that I need to start improving my overall quality of life if I want to achieve more specific goals. I can't expect answers to come my way, and I can't expect those answers to solve all of my issues automatically too. I guess I just need to pay more attention to how I live from now on.
 
Well, to put your mind at ease, I would suggest seeking a second opinion regarding your G.I. health, if you still have lingering doubts that is. However, if the outcome of your second consultation is the same as the first, then it may be that the symptoms you are experiencing are psychological rather than physical, and that is a possibility you may wish to explore further.

Furthermore, if you feel like anal sex causes you too much difficulty/discomfort then you could always abstain from it, it's no big deal. I know there is a misconception about gay men and how we must participate in anal sex in order to be considered 'truly' gay, but that's simply untrue, believe it or not, there are lots of gay men who are not into anal sex and who do not partake in it, so you wouldn't be alone in that respect.

Well the problem is I really enjoy anal sex and have no interest in abstaining from it in any time of my life. The second opinion is an option, but I want to avoid that so I don't spend too much money on this. I have high hopes for myself though. If there was anything seriously wrong with me, the doctor would have said something. Chances are, if he did miss something, it's so minor that it can be cured own my own.

There are two types of dietary fiber. Both are good for you but they have a slightly different way that they work on your stools.
  • Soluble fiber partially dissolves in water and it will make your stools more moist. Fruits and vegetables tend to be soluble in nature. Citrucel is an example of a soluble fiber supplement.
  • Insoluble fiber doesn't dissolve and adds bulk to your stools. Many whole grains like bran and psyllium (which is what is in Metamucil) are insolube.


What the doctor was suggesting is that it's good that you're consuming more vegetables and fruit but also adding some whole grains or Metamucil will give your stool more bulk.

Okay I'll try out Metamucil then and see if that helps.

Sorry for the double post, but I just wanted to point out that I looked up Psyllium and it apparently has much more soluble fiber than insoluble. Maybe I was having more insoluble fiber than soluble?

You are correct- Psyllium (husk) is classified as soluble. Most grains are classified as insoluble (e.g. bran) and psyllium is an exception.

What makes psyllium different is that, where many of the fiber supplements can cause gas, psyllium is less likely to do so which is why it is used as a fiber supplement.
