Finally, a decent Bond flick! I don't want to spoil any of it for anyone planning to go seee it, but I will say this is the best Bond movie I've seen since Sean Connery days. If they keep their writing team they may be onto the best Bond ever. Cheers!

I am in total agreement. 100%. I really enjoyed this movie and I was totally impressed.

Saw the previews last night before the main feature, Borat. The new Bond flick looks great - action, intrigue, some depth to the character, and a plausible plot line. Okay, and on the shallow side, Bond looked pretty damn good emerging from the water. I got a bit shaken and certainly a bit stirred.

I just saw it too and I agree with everything you all said. It's also sexy as hell. Daniel Craig is like an adonis, the perfect man. Daniel Craig's tan body is something that I would commit a crime for. LOL just kidding. :D But he is that good. He's a great actor too. I won't give anything away, but I perceived the movie as being a lesson on life that states that life is a combination of strategy and luck; luck is nothing if not driven by strategy. For some reason, I thought of Martina Hingis while watching the movie; I still think Hingis could win a Grand Slam if she adds a bit more power to her game and maintain her chess-style of play. The movie was that good that it made me think of things like that. Crazy, huh? :D

Martina does not need any more power. Sure it could help and does need a bigger serve but Martina's biggest problem is her mental. She just needs to focus and believe in herself.

Cheers a grandslam winning 2007 season for princess Martina.

Didn't this Bond flick rock?! Eva Green was an excellent Bond girl. Her opened wide-eyed stare into camera during the underwater sequence was mesmerizing.

Yup. Really, really good for the Bond series. We learn a great deal about Bond (his childhood, his ability to trust, his attitude about women, his relationship with his boss). Much better than the usual "save the world" 007 film. And the stunts at the construction site are fantastic.

Watched it last night and was very impressed. Great film. It could have done without the hour long poker match though.

Yeah true, but at least Bond almost died from cardiac arrest during the poker match. haha :D which gave the poker match some intensity and suspense.

I saw it last night and WOW! It was WAYYYY better than any of the Pierce Brosnan films and Casino Royale definitely belongs up there with the Connery films. Daniel was absolutely GORGEOUS I could not wait for him to appear on the screen again LOL. I love Eva Green in her other movies and she did well here but her voice was a little on the croaky side for me.....did anyone seem bothered by her voice??? Her British accent was spot-on though. Overall I would definitely pay to see this again!

Just saw it tonight and I have to say it was GREAT!!! I've only seen two other Bond films, both with Pierce, and this was a thousand times better.

With the other movies it seemed they tried to turn Bond into this suave guy who seems like he'd save the world with a bottle of vodka and a can of hair spray.

Daniel Craig is the kind of Bond that I can see saving the day, and not in a cheesy way with crazy gadgets and a bimbo Bond girl. Not to mention Daniel Craig looks amazing, with and without clothes.

I have seen "Casino Royale" as well and I agree that it is a brilliant Bond film. Although I was against the idea of having Craige as Bond, I most say that it was a brilliant choice. The best Bond since Connery. Craige made Brosnan and Moore look like romantic heroes rather than a though spy. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that the Brosnan and Moore Bonds are not fun to watch. I regard "Casino Royale" in my top 5 Bonds. For me no. 1 is "From Russia With Love", 2. "Goldfinger" and I can't decide no. 3 between "Casino Royale" and "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". Can hardly wait for Bond 22:D

I was impressed by the film too, especially the chasing scene at the beginning of the show. I think Daniel is a good spy hero, but I am still unsure of te Bond thing yet, until I see more Bond films with him in it.

But a good spy hero he is.

as the others have said, it is great return to bond flicks without the smwarm factor

and I cant remember who said it, but mr craig is the best bond chick yet! (those pecs! those legs!) he even outdoes halle berry when he comes out of the water

I saw it today for the second time, and I was still blown away. I've been a die-hard James Bond fan for as long as I can remember, and I feel this is definitely one of the best films made in the series.

I think what I loved about it the most (besides Bond's "perfectly formed arse") was the fact that the film-makers made him human. He made mistakes, showed remorse and guilt over his actions, and you could sympathise with his character for once. That was always my problem with the movies was that Bond always seemed to out of reach and untouchable, and because of that it was hard to relate or feel genuine emotion for him. I guess that's a major part of his allure too, but it was definitely refreshing to see a more human side of Bond :) The love story involving him and Vesper was so well handed. The scene where he cradles her in the shower....so beautiful.

And doesn't it seem all the more amazing coming right after Die Another Day?

Just saw it too... great movie, really... the first half hour is incredible (thanks to the french stuntmen...), the cast is great (Craig is the best Ursula Andress ever... Eva Green... she's french too: cocorico !... is a very interresting JBgirl, and the villain is just like I love them), and the music is beautyful....

The story is great too (the poker game is too short, but, hey !... )...

I just thought there was too much "blah-blah-I-love-you-I-won't-be-in-the-sequel" during 10 minuts before they exploded the city you know (no spoiler... no spoiler !)...

Anyway... the most incredible thing happened : they put in the movie THE scene that was in the book, and that I thought they'd never dare to film.... for this, THANKS A LOT to the film maker...:bj: :luv:

Now is it just me or is it hard to call Eva Green a Bond girl? It sounds insulting to her character to say that, I feel. She's the most intelligent of the women in this series of films, in my opinion, and it just doesn't seem right to lump her into the same category as, say, Stacey Sutton, Mary Goodnight, Tiffany Chase, and Jinx from the other movies.

She doesn't let Bond take control; she makes her own decisions, and she doesn't run around half-naked ...which I think makes her all the more appealing. I much prefer the women in these movies who have a brain and aren't there to just cry out: "Oh James!" I hope they stick to this trend in the upcoming films :D

OK, you win... I remember the "nuclear engineer" dressed like Lara Croft... THAT was a JBgirl... :rotflmao:

Haha ! ;)

Anyway... Craig in tighed swim suit, getting out from the sea ?... He did to my gay part what Ursula did to the other one... pure sex... you had to ear the sighs all over the theatre... !oops!
