Just Us Men

I consider myself to be one of those mature youngsters some people have mentioned!

Right. Have another drink bitch!

(Kidding, only kidding!) But I've read from your own hands that you are a lush.

Cheers! ~clinks glasses~

Unfortunately, you are absolutely correct in your assessment.I have been trying to steer jub on an intellectual path for many years. The immature, frat boy mentality, runs rampant here. Some men never grow up.
Okay, what have you done with vanny? How did you get his password?

I don't want to grow up

I notice from the original post a three month "membership"..... discounting any lurking time before that, I feel that you may not have given the boards enough time as yet. They tend to run in cycles. Some people stay, some disappear overnight without a word and others just post and post and post ad infinitim. That is not to say that some of those are not noteworthy but it is those that you tend to notice more and the basis for a judgement. You tend to get a lot of students finishing exams around November and December and therefore more time to spend here... other times of the year they disappear. Choose your topics, if you don't find any appealing or meeting your expectations, then start your own. It is what you make of it.

It is very sad that a 45 yr old man has to express himself in this way. You should be so proud.

I hope when I reach 45 that i have enough common sense not to make stupid comments that show just how much of a pathetic ass I truly am......

when you grow up a bit

There's no entrance requirement here at JUB, other than a computer and an internet connection. Being gay, and even owning a penis, isn't a prerequisite. So, naturally, you're going to meet all kinds here.

Even if there were a site like JUM, how would you keep the site "aboveboard"? One comment about Britney Spears and you're out? Ban the use of terms like "OMFG"? Have a book-of-the-month and make the quiz on each a requirement to maintain posting status?

Yes, we've got all kinds here. But that doesn't bother me much. Yes, there are some folks and some groups that I'm not much of a fan of. But I'm the master of my computer - it's easy to stay out of zones and threads that don't interest me, and scroll past posts that I don't care about.

And it's fun here, I think. I've had frivolous conversations about whatnot. I've had indepth discussions about more important and serious issues. I've given advice, gotten advice, laughed, argued and screamed. I'm adaptable. I can discuss politics, ideas and the early works of Herbie Hancock as easily as I can dick size.

Yeah, there might be more "dick size" discussion here than otherwise, but that's not surprising - this is one of the few forums where that's possible. I mean, I can go to my co-workers and say "What do you think about Bush's speech last night?" or "Miles Davis - Kind of Blue, or Bitches Brew?" But I don't see myself saying, "I prefer a larger cock - how about you?"

My advice? Take JUB for what it is. Sometimes fun, sometimes juveline, sometimes intelligent, quite often interesting. Find some people you DO like interacting with. Start a conversation with them offboard, via PM, where nobody will jump in with a "show me your weewee" comment. There's plenty of "quality" and maturity here if you know where to look.

...and yes, I said all that with the cartoon gargoyle staring over his shoulder there.
