He posted somewhere that he recently learned to really enjoy topping. I can't recall where, but it seemed legit. Ashy can chime in if he was kidding, or I'm remembering completely incorrectly.
Well, two points. First off, singers now are ostensibly lip-synching their OWN previously-recorded vocals. The real "scandal" (such as it was) was that the Rob and Fab, the two guys on the cover, didn't sing/rap at all on the album or in concert. But the thing that really pissed me off was all this anger and scorn was aimed at the cornrowed guys plastered on the cover of the album. Frank Farian, the puppet master, got off scot-free, even mocking Rob and Fab in all subsequent interviews. I'm glad FF's career sort of skidded after that debacle, but it would've been better if he was the one who got the lion's share of the crap.
I liked that after the whole lip-synching thing became known, Frank Farian rushed out the follow-up material under the name "The REAL Milli Vanilli", with the real singers on the cover...
...but pushed far to either side, while three more attractive people who didn't do much on the album took center stage. Plus le change...
