Geezuz.

Not soon enough from what it seems.

Maybe you are lucky though that he just hides in his room covered in Cheeto dust, staring at a computer screen 24/7.

I think we need a code. Like if it gets really weird...something that would tell one of us to call 911 because he is about to hold you hostage.

My thoughts on college algebra homework...

I'm working on the single-most stereotypical "this is why I hate math" problem...

"Lewiston and Vernonville are 176 miles apart. A car leaves Lewiston traveling towards Vernonville, and another car leaves Vernonville at the same time, traveling towards Lewiston. The car leaving Lewiston averages 10 miles per hour more than the other, and they meet after 1 hour and 36 minutes. What are the average speeds of the cars?

The car leaving Lewiston averages ___ miles per hour.
The car leaving Vernonville averages ___ miles per hour.
Round your answer to the nearest mile per hour."

I'm wondering how I can put this into the answer boxes the flash system gives me...

Johann, I wasn't directing my comments against YOU personally - yes I mentioned your name in passing in the second line, but that was only because you seem to be the main proponent of the whole four-letter-code stuff. I was just making my own general viewpoint known.

Understandably you feel a bit put out by it - perhaps similar to the way that oakpope feels put out by anti-religious comments - or similar to how JP feels about astrology and the zodiac - but my main point was that no two people in this world will ever be exactly the same. As for how many different personalities there are in the world, I'd say 6,500,000,000 going on 7,000,000,000. :)

And for the record, IF it turns out that I and I alone am in any way responsible for quasar's disappearance these last few months, then I'd deeply regret it, as this obviously wasn't my intention. But you're slightly misrepresenting what happened. I accept it was a forceful and blunt opinion, and one made when I was overly angry. But it was NOT a throat-slitting / public whipping / demeaning personal attack on him.

That is algebra 2 shit right there.

D=RT aka the dirt formula

or in this case...

D1+D2=176
RVTV+RLTL = 176

T is the same for both so it makes it even easier.

(RV+10)1.6 + 1.6RL = 176 <- Converted 96 minutes into 1.6 hours for consistent units
1.6R + 16 + 1.6R = 176
3.2R = 160
RV = 50mph
RL = 60mph

Mind you, I learned this crap Freshmen year in high school.

James Deen does nothing for me, but I've heard it's a nice guy IRL and a professional worker.

edit: my own rant... my boarder's antisocial behavior is kind of grating. it's a little ridiculous that my BF spent 2.5 days in the apartment and he didn't leave his room once, except while we were asleep/out/in the bedroom. I went out of my way to invite him out to dinner with us, or have a nightcap before bed.

So did he join you guys for dinner after you invited him or did he decline? (Or worse yet...ignore)

I know Henry Cavill is hot as hell, but do we really need another Superman film, Hollywood? :dead:

They're seriously running out of ideas...and when they do...it's the same thing: remake something, attempt to make a film out of a book, or just do another blowupsomethingrandomsuperheroremaketransformersblahblahblah-type movie. OH, and make sure to call it a summer blockbuster. :roll:

I think we've had the best of the best as far as films are concerned. Everything's been done, done again, and done to death. Over it.

Anyone else feel this way?

DC certainly has a ton of other heroes they could be making movies about instead of retelling Superman and Batman' s origins.

Green Lantern could have been better, but I didn't hate it. I'd kill for a Wonder Woman movie, or The Flash, Firestorm, Hawkman, Blue Beetle... even Supergirl or Batgirl would be interesting.

I know Henry Cavill is hot as hell, but do we really need another Superman film……
Well the advantage is that it will showcase big Henry and hopefully he'll take his pants off again :luv2:

…Hollywood? :dead::…
Comics are for kids. I avoid almost all current US movies. They're mostly brain-dead with the Dolby Sound turned up to the max. Every grunt and every wallop reverberates around the cinema. :bartshock

…I have two people in mind… If you hate Americans so much, why the hell are you here?
Johann, I thought you were a Canadian.

I don't know who you're talking about but I like to think I come to share here in JUB as equals and that I treat the JUBbers as they are as individuals.

There may be some resentment from me and the rest of the planet because the USA OWNS the international entertainment industry.

Unfortunately most young people in the world act like sheep and they gobble most new fads which are fed to them. Almost all of them are from the USA— and unfortunately the culture in those individual places gets overshadowed and lost with each generation. It's why England and France imposed strict quotas on their film industry in the 1930s.

England used to hold a similar power in the 19th century. I believe the Welsh and Gaelic languages are diminishing and unfortunately about seventy languages have been lost by the native people of my country.

.

I think it's just an international pasttime to rag on America.

in college in the late 90's/early 00's, I ran a group for international/exchange students. pretty much any time you had more than one in a room, the discussion broke down into how much America sucked and how better their home countries were .

Yes. I too have run into a ton of that. Its always 'You Americans dont know how to do this and that... in my country etc...'

Then you get those that go on to youtube to tell us just how much Americans and American TV sucks.

^It depends on which part of "America" you deal with candidly speaking. We are a country of 310 million after all and one of the more populous countries on Earth.

As I posted recently, I had to explain an Algebra 2 topic in 'Hot Topics' which I learned my Freshmen year in high school. I expounded on this discrepancy in CE&P and how much of the US has fallen behind.

Tom Hiddleston just won a MTV Movie Award. I think that he is adorable :p. He's like Michael Fassbender's less threatening cousin.

I WISH!

Very recently I looked into the possibility of emigrating to Canada. This isn't due to any Anti-Americanism on my part. It relates to the fact that I like the way they look at political issues.

Consider this:

The United States has had 16 (sixteen) banking crises since 1776. How many has Canada had? None. That's right. None. This is because they're sensibly regulated. I like that no-nonsense approach to problems.

By contrast, we Americans are hopelessly brainwashed by partisanship. A bunch of kids just got blown up into smithereens, and many of our people don't even want background checks for semiautomatic rifles. What kind of common sense is that?

(Riddle: what other two countries have never had a banking crisis?)

BTW, We can't emigrate. The rules nowadays are extremely strict.

They still legally celebrate the Queen's birthday and we [Americans] do not.

I have a pet peeve: people who pee in the shower.

Like, if you gotta go....go in the toilet that's 2 feet from the showers before you enter the shower. Otherwise, wait until after. If it's an emergency, please step the fuck out and do your business where it's meant to be. Seriously.

He really hasn't made a great mystery of his new avatar.

He told everyone everything you'd need to know in another thread.

I'm over the chase for "sure money" in Hollywood. It's not creative, it's a business. If _______ is a proven success, why not go for an extra hundred-million cash run by making a sequel or making a movie version of an old sitcom/cartoon or remaking an old classic film.

I can't really think of ONE where they did the original justice. They cut out everything that made the originals special, and re-wrote them to be so far from the originals they were barely recognizable.

Okay Hunty....

who are you leaving to slowly bleed out this time?

Innuendo Sucks....especially for dumbhats like me.
