July in Texas. Hundred-degree heat, god-awful humidity. And so dry that the lakes run low, and there's talk of water restrictions because cities' water supply is so low. Right?

It's been actually almost cold here, along with being overcast around the clock. Don't get me wrong, the rain is needed badly, but the weather the so screwed up and such a departure from a stereotypical July summer in Texas that most people here don't exactly know what to think. I'm right there with them.

^Yeah, that upper low, that looks like an upside-down comma over Texas, has had most of the south central US dark, dreary and rainy for most of this week. I happen to be a huge fan of dark, dreary and rainy. But it's just weird as shit to see it in the dead middle of summer here. Oo

I have tons of potted plants around my yard and garden and squirrels are constantly digging stuff out and leaving it setting on the ground/deck. I just replant, water , and they usually come back. (unfortunately so do the squirrels)

Have you tried putting rocks on the topsoil? Decent sized ones, not little pebbles.

Thanks, I’ve tried good sized river rocks in the past, now I just plant the pots as densely as possible, works fairly well.

You're lucky then. The Squirrels here bite stuff off at the stem, just to be mean. I could almost understand it if they ATE the plant, but they don't. They just cut them down. I hate the little tree rats, and often chase them around, and out of my yard with a spray hose. It doesn't really detour them, but I feel somewhat vindicated if I manage to actually soak one once in a while.

Speaking of road rage/obnoxious drivers, I had an incidence on the highway with an asshat yesterday who flipped me off when I was trying to merge into the lane he was in. As if that wasn't enough, after he sped up so I couldn't merge in, he waved his index finger to me and then proceeded to tail-gate me for a few miles after I switched into a different lane. It's a game for some people apparently.

Lol I feel ya man. I am ok being single most of the time, but once in a while often those surge of emotions flow into my mind and overwhelms my brain. I'll be attending my 10th funeral this Tuesday and it will probably be the most emotional one.

My uncle and his wife had a stillbirth. She delivered a dead baby. The doctors let them lay with him for 8 hours before they took him away. God that's the worst. There'll be an open casket viewing for him and I don't even know if I can stand looking at him.

I'm not looking forward to it at all.

My heart goes out to you Kien. I don't like funerals. Going to a baby's funeral is too much.

I had a friend go through that exact situation too. One of my friend's wife had a stillbirth. They told him that the baby could not breathe on its own and would die within 5 mins of coming out of the womb. I would not wish that on anyone.
