So I'm in a bit of an odd situation that kinda depresses me. Heres the back story I'll try not to rant and shorten this as much as possible.

We met a year ago online with the intention of hooking up, and we did that first night but we both made it clear we would do this more than just one night, so we continued hooking up but somewhere along the way we became really good friends too and wed often hangout, go to movies, eat out do whatever without always having sex everytime we got together. It worked out pretty well for me because for the first time in my life I actually had no romantic confusing feelings toward this guy and was fine just being the best of friends with the benefits whenever we both wanted it, I didnt care that I wasnt the only one he would sleep with, hes very physically attractive and I very much enjoyed the sex with him but I just had no real feelings of wanting to ever date him and neither did he towards me, I know thats hard for some people to understand.

Anyway flash forward to a month ago (the last time we hung out) I was going to be out of state the very next week for several months but I'd be back home every chance I could to visit my friends and family and initially when I left town for the first 2 weeks we maintained contact like any good friends would, texted, talked on the phone and the last time I talked to him was on a wednesday 4 weeks ago, I told him that morning I was probably coming home the next day for 4 or 5 days and he seemed excited, I texted him again late that night to say "I am definetely coming home tomorrow for several days do you want to do something at some point"

And thats it....I havent heard from him since, now I never texted or called a second time to say what happened to you or anything like that because I've always had this complex of not wanting to be an annoyance to anyone, I often never even am the first to text or call anyone I always wait for them to do it weird I know..

Anyway I just want some insight from people who may have gone through this what do you think happened? after a year of being the best of friends he just decided hes done with me? Honestly I'm not like mega depressed or anything because I still have my really good long term friends but it just bothers me like I thought we were cool, what the hell..

Dude, just text him again, and ask if everything is ok. And add that you would have texted earlier, but didn't wanna be a bother. Wtf are you on here asking for advice?

I agree with Rolyo85. The straightforward approach is best.

He might be gone but you won't know until you ask him.

We don't know what happened. Could be anything. Try calling him, if you get no response, move on. He has your number.

Text him and invite him out to get together to see if he would reply back. Have a specific plan...something like, "Let's go for happy hour on Thursday at XYZ bar. U free?"

You contacted him,and that's really all you can do,now the ball is in his court. What happens between the two of you is now officially up to him.He has your number,so his only excuse is that he doesn't want to see you,or he's just too busy to spend any time with you right now.

If he calls you, then great. If he doesn't,don't get bent out of shape about it.My advice to you is to wait, but don't put your life on hold for this guy.Like,if you get horny,go out and find someone to sink your dick into.Don't not do anything you want to do because you're hoping for a response from a guy, especially one you're not actually in a relationship with. This guy is not your boyfriend,he's a fuckbuddy.

You need to contact him. Do you know how many people have deleted or lost their contact lists on their cell phone? Or your text didn't reach him? Could be as simple as something like that. He could be sitting wondering why you've never contacted him.
