over the past month, it feels like i've experienced the extremes of life in these united states. a few weeks ago, i was snorkeling on a near deserted beach in hawaii.
last night i flew home from a five day whirlwind in washington dc. my friend jeanette buck has a theater piece that opened there last weekend. if you will be in the washington dc area in the next few weeks, i highly recommend that you see:
THERE ARE NO STRANGERS.COM
Five days of little sleep, intense conversations with people i haven't seen in twenty years; it was an interesting time.
but i'm so glad to be home in oregon, where spring is well under way and life slows down to a speed i'm more comfortable with.
i think i might have added a few pics from molokai in one of my galleries. take a look.
oh, and i've found a few more stimulating things elsewhere.

As a long-time member of JUB (anyone else remember LMAO?), one of my favorite areas of the site has been the Amateur posting boards. I've even been tempted a time or two to post my middle-aged self in all my glory (HAH!).
Which leads me to ponder the question: what drives us to post nude pictures of ourselves? Is exhibitionism simply a natural, and seemingly pervasive, urge?
I'm also curious about the reprecussions of getting "found out" once the pictures are discovered by family and friends. Surely this happens every day.
Maybe it's a good thing. We are all naturally sexual beings and perhaps putting oureselves "out there" sexually for all the world to see, de-stigmatizes what has for too long been hidden in the closet.

Here's a fascinating collection of more than 600 short interviews conducted by the British Library in an effort to preserve the dialects and accents of Britian. Most of the interviews were recorded in the 1950's.
Many interviewees talk about life and work in rural Britain 100 years ago. One elderly man recalled how he was fired from a farm job for not being able to load a half ton of manure onto a wagon by himself when he was 13 years old.
You will need Windows Media Player to listen to these files:
THE ENGLISH LIBRARY: THE WAY WE SPEAK

Had a bunch of friends over last night, ate junk food (Salt and Pepper Kettle Chips, YUM!) and watched:
SHAOLIN SOCCER
It's the funniest movie I've seen in a long time. Everyone was on the floor rolling with laughter and snorting chocolate peanut butter ice cream out their noses.
What was most interesting was that there was a mixed bunch of folks, male and female, gay/straight, young/old, etc. and everyone all thought the same thing about the movie: FUNNY!
Check it out at the link above.

The Good:
Got the truck fixed and it didn't cost an arm and a leg
Planted my sweet peas
Surfed a nice little right at Otter this morning

The Bad:
Have to leave for work in about an hour.

The Ugly:
Saw a deer in the garden with mange and a bum leg. Typically, an injured animal like that doesn't last the year. We'll probably find it dead in the woods in a month or two.
Large, smelly deer carcasses are a bitch to dispose of. The turkey vultures get most of once they find it. And they only find it once it starts to smell.

The realities of living in the country.

Did you not eat breakfast this morning?
Did you also not eat anything yesterday?
Or the day before?
Have you contracted the Ebola virus or the new one called Marburg that dissolves your insides within days?
Did your house and family wash away in the Christmas tsunami?
Have you been the victim of a violent crime lately?
No? Well, then...
Thank your favorite deity that you're alive and smile at the next person you see.

For lo these many years, Republicans have been nagging us about "getting the government off our backs." One of Bush's court nominees has even asserted that whenever gorvernment gets involved in something, evil and the degradation of civil society are the inevitable result.
Now that they have assumed the reins of power, they seem to be hell bent on getting involved in ever more personal aspects of our daily lives.
The Patriot Act gives them access to the books we check out of the library.
The Dignity of Marriage ammendment proposal to the Constitution will force states to follow the Religious Fascist's agenda.
The EPA is forcing states to open up pristine wildlands to their corporate buddies for subsidized extraction of timber and mineral resources.
The list goes on and on...
Do they simply not recognize their own hypocrisy or do they just not care now that they have the power?
And when will American progressives get their shit together and fight the REAL evil and degradation to civil society?

I've found a few hot (to me, anyway) pics trolling around the Net. Take a look at my X-rated gallery and have a look.
Up here, the rain continues unabated. No surf to speak of, so I'm occupying myself watching the Mariners lose big time to the Yanks and listening to Hawaiian music. Dreaming of the sweet little break in Lahaina, Maui.

Friday was our boy's last day of school and his 7th birthday so it sure was busy around our house last week.
The school held an end of year party and we volunteered at the "Batter's Up" booth where the kids took turns swatting baseball bats at water balloons. The kids got soaking wet, grinning like madmen (and girls). Most of them got right back in line to do it all over again. Needless to say, it was a ton-o-fun!
The next day, some of the his friends from 1st grade were invited to the beach for a birthday party. Lots of sugar, presents and more water balloons (what is it about water balloons and 7 year olds?) One of his friends gave him this way cool balsa wood airpplane with a battery operated launcher that flies as well as any model airplane I've ever seen. We gave him a cordless electric drill, which he loves. Every screw in the house is now never coming out!

B signed up for summer soccer today and had his first practice. His dad went (I stayed home and wrote) and was just bustin' at the seams with pride when he came home to tell me all about it.
B decided to try goalie because he thought that looked "easiest" (like me he's a bit of a lazy bum). This is his first experience with team sports (he just turned 7) and he even blocked a shot with his head. After the save, as his teammates shouted their congratulations, he stood there not sure whether to cry or laugh.
He said: "Well, that hurt. But not TOO much!" And he continued playing.
That's our boy!

Today was going to be our boy's first soccer game but I get up this morning and it's raining. Damn. He was so excited last night. I should call the coach and find out if they'll play in the rain.
However, there is a bright side. If they cancel the game that means I get to watch the first stage of the Tour De France!
ALLEZ! LANCE! Rip their balls off!

I've gotten some nice coments about the pics I've put up. Thanks guys.
I've been hunting around the net lately and found a few more.
Hope you like!

...well, dozens, anyway. It's been raining here, so I've been stuck inside surfing the net for dirty pics. Guess what? I found some. Have a LOOK!
And let me know if you think I should start rearranging the pics into themed galleries. Or if you like things the way the are.

Busy day today. Changed tires on my bike, cooked, and picked up the boy from school and the two of us had an afternoon before I took him home.
We first had an ice cream and then we picked out the biggest pumpkin we could find at the grocery store. Then we visited his dad at work and finally picked up his little reading prizes at the library.
Now I'm watching the Astros get beaten up by the Braves and looking at the Survivor's Guy's bodies. (Bobbie Jon's a dreamboat).
Tonight I hope to give my guy a massage. I think he might need a little "touch."

...and a couple of new pics. In the X-rated gallery.
It's raining like cats and dogs. Haven't been on my bike nor surfed in over two weeks. I'm feeling in the depts of winter already, even though it's not that cold outside. Just gray and blustery.

It’s been awhile since I’ve blogged about my life here on JUB. I’ve talked to a few of you one on one and even tried to learn the new chat. Not being a real techie, it’s taking me a bit longer than most.
The best news to relate here is that Imogen Heap has a new album out. It’s called, “Speak For Yourself” and you can find out more about this great singer here: IMOGEN HEAP HOMEPAGE
You can also listen to clips (try “Clear The Area”, “Goodnight And Go” and “Hide And Seek”) and join her fan club if you so desire.
I’ve also added a sh$#load of new pics to my X-rated gallery. Sorry if it’s not arranged by theme like most guys’ galleries, but I’m a lazy sot, what can I say. I try not to steal too many pics from other guys’ galleries, but every once and a while I do, so if you want me to take them down, let me know.
Rain, rain, and more. Fire’s in the woodstove, I’ve got Imogen on iTunes and a bowl smoking on the desk. Life is good. My guy just back from SF attending the MacWorld conference and I’m saving money to buy a new road bike and dreaming of sunny weather and surf.
Drop me a line.

I've been collecting photography of the professional biking world, mostly from the Tour De France and the Giro D'Italia. No porn but some of them turn me on. Those legs!
Hope you like them.

I guess it had to happen sooner or later. Being the old man that I am, I've seen it all before. Something good becomes something "better."
I can't find members' blogs. The navigation is biased in favor of the ads, pay per view features, and just trying to get money from us.
I'm not dissing these guys for trying to make a buck.....yes, I am. Once upon a time JUB, (what was its name before then, I can't remember, but I was there), was a place were we got together, gabbed away, traded pics, jacked off, argued, told stories and talked about our life. Now it's just another place to give away our credit card number.
RIPJUB

I think it must be all the rain is getting to me. A little pakalolo and an ale keeps the blues away.
Baseball is in full swing as is the cyclking season. Tom Boonen rocks!
Take a look at my gallery. And enjoy yourselves.
