You know, I'm actually a fan of his music, although I don't think it's anywhere near as inventive or grand and groundbreaking as he thinks it is. I even found his candor and attention whoring ways a bit unpredictable and oddly endearing when he first came out. But this novelty act has long worn out its welcome.

I had thought he had humbled himself a bit as he claimed, after his mother's passing and after being lambasted on South Park. That clearly didn't last long. This man is 32 years old, yet he acts like a 7 year old. In some ways he is so progressive and booksmart, but he completely negates that with his childish tantrums. Who raised him to think that this was acceptable behavior? If it's the alcohol, as he seems to claim in many instances in the past, then stop drinking! And why does the public and music industry and other celebrities continue to reward him? I've seen him on television shows even as vanilla s Ellen and she and the audience giggle at his arrogance and seem to find it charming. Even during the ceremony, right afterwards, Wale defended him and Diddy seemed to think the whole thing was funny. It's not. It's petty, ugly and sometimes, downright mean and bullying as it was tonight.

Let this be the beginning of the backlash. MTV needs to ban him from future award shows. Of course they won't, but I'm a firm believer that repeated bad behavior needs repercussions. He has acted out of line at multiple music award shows now. The music industry needs to stop inviting him, nominating and promoting him.

Fuck off, Kanye.

Beyonce did the respectable thing- to invite Taylor out for her moment. Personally Taylor's too bland and boring for my taste but then again, that's beside the point, because Beyonce is right- she deserved her moment on stage to shine.

I thought Kanye apologized once already after 'Gayfish' was aired earlier this year. Seems that the saying 'can't polish a turd' holds true for this guy. I hope South Park rips him a new A-hole for this outrageous behaviour of his.

It was an opinion. There's nothing to "save face" about. Also, it's not "evidence" if it's merely "testimony" from the people involved in the publicity subterfuge.

problem is your "opinion" doesn't make any sense.. beyonce was obviously embarassed, taylor was humiliated, and kanye may have just driven the final nail into the coffin of what was left of his career.. with all the "reality" tv shows over the last 10 years, i know it's easy to be disinclined to believe ANYTHING on tv is real anymore, but the simple fact remains that there was absolutely NO good reason for anyone involved to agree to participate in "staging" such a stunt.. it was a lose-lose-lose situation - there was nothing postiive to be gained by any of them..

Ugh, it wasn't planned...I know it's fun to be cynical and think that EVERYTHING is not what it seems to be and every dramatic moment to do with celebrities is a conspiracy or staged for publicity, but this clearly isn't the case. You jumped the gun by saying that and now that all the evidence is pouring in, you're trying to save face and keep arguing. It's okay to admit you're wrong, we'll forgive you.

I agree, MTV does "stage" alot of things in order to get higher ratings and build drama.. But..something like this....it would make no sense at all to stage.. No one would agree to such a thing. Again...as I said before, look at the shock on the faces of Taylor, and the two presenters (I don't remember their names). Everyone looked very uncomfortable.

For the record, this was not Taylor's first award. I believe she has won some ACM's (Academy of Country Music). This is her first award on MTV

What can I say, I think Kanye is a super talented artist. He can be a complete dick if he wants to, it's his image at stake and he can do what he wants with it.

So it's OK for him to embarass Beyonce and upset Taylor because he only has to care about himself?
What a dickish way to look at things. He was being a selfish asshole and fair enough he's losing credibility for it, but he's also ruined Taylor's first award (not that I like her, I agree Beyonce should have won it) but he's also hugely embarassed Beyonce.


And he's about as talented as my toenail.

OMG! first off, when I seen Kanye sitting with his girl, I was like aww shit, he looking kinda good lol. But when Taylor got her award and Kanye got up and took the mic and said all that. My mouth dropped. That was so tacky, ignorant and unnecessary. I mean i like Beyonce, but c'mon now! Was he expecting her to win all the awards? I was suprised as well that Taylor one. I think she deserved it, she's been doing her thing too and I love "You belong with me." Kayne is an asshole and I will never look at him the same way again. It's so funny how the audience bood him when he was nominated, I wonder if he would of won what would he say. He such a skeez and he ruined his career for a couple months. I never really like him all the much, it's one thing to speak your mind but he's a complete asshole and he really embarrassed himself. Big ups to Beyonce for doing that! Go Taylor!

But Beyonce did deserve the award because her Single Ladies video = iconic.

I don't know if it's just me or what, but I don't see anything "iconic" about her video.

I'm not crazy about the song itself, and if you ask me it was more like she was just throwing herself around/having convulsions in this video. Did the choreographer have turrets? She could have thrown on some jeans and a t-shirt or hoodie and this video could have easily been mistaken for a GAP commercial.

All of her Top 40 songs have been redone and pop-ified. I mean she's about as country as country is now-a-days. Country radio has gotten a lot more pop in recent years. She's obviously got a good team behind her to take advantage of it.

No way this was planned.

People keep talking about how Taylor would have never agreed to this kind of thing, but the real point is that any sane person would not have agreed to do what Kanye did for publicity for the show. Assuming Kanye isnt a douchebag, he would never agree to do this as it would kill his reputation. Look at how much people have been hating on him for the last few days. Nothing even remotely positive is gonna come out of this for Kanye, and that should be painfully obvious. If Kanye did not agree to doing this for PR (which no one would ever do), then it couldnt have been planned and really was just done because Kanye was drunk and an asshole.

I think Kanye was wrong in what he did, but why is everyone acting like Taylor is a little kid. She is not 2, she's 19. A grown ass woman. This girl is playing this innocent little girl act a little too much for my taste. You don't get to her level of fame without having some thick skin. Kanye is an ass, but thats nothing new. Beyonce handled the situation with so much class.
