But if white people (99.999% of it comes from white people that want 'rock music' to be dominant again) want to carry on the attacks on Kanye, hey enjoy it guys. If you like hip hop and have criticisms of it go ahead, but if you decide to hate his music because of the public persona he puts on its just going to be boring.

I don't like rap, but that's not why I don't like Kanye. There are lot of rappers out there who are down-to-earth and do good things. Kanye has his head so far above the clouds that he's looking down on God, and he's simply not a nice person. He truly does feel that he deserves to be worshipped by his fans.

I really don't know, the entire public persona is a creation that goes with each album. I don't his anything like how he comes across behind closed doors. I mean he basically changes character every song and right now his hooked on a combative, egotistical, you will accept me cos I am god image, rather than than say his early stuff where he acted like a wordy, shy dude.

There are nicer guy rappers, but few of them have knocked as many albums out of the park like Yeezy. I mean you mentioned Drake before, who I really like and does seem like a good dude, but his got an ego - he fucking calls himself Champagne Papi. And right now it seems to be coming out everything is ghost written for him (at least according to Meek Mill).

I've been programming drums since 1983 ... and I have been using computer DAWs for the past 11 years to record/produce my music ... in all genres .. but I must admit, I do still play guitar and keys in 'real time' ... but that's because I'm old. :clown:

Anway, rock died years ago (probably for the best) ... but there is still money to be made from kicking its corpse, and hip-hop isn't exactly new or cutting edge in any way, it's been around for decades now.

I don't hate West because of 'the public persona he puts on'; I don't really hate anyone that I don't actually know .. but he is (unintentionally) very amusing.

People get so worked up when others don't seem to share their taste in music ... it really doesn't matter it is all merely sonc-landfill in the cosmic scheme of things. ..|

Sadly it was always going to be the worst news. It is just shocking they haven't at the least found a body to ease the family.

Still hopefully his contribution to the music industry, and pretty much all UK hip hop, will be celebrated now, even if it has taken too long in the wider public.

1,000 volunteers were selected to help out on the floor at the Pan Am closing ceremonies. One of my friends, a nurse, was included in that number. When I asked her about the performance, she started laughing and saying she couldn't get her earplugs in fast enough. The people in her section didn't seem to be enjoying it either.

Forget about anyone's taste in music, just judge his voice. In the video Hoody shared, he was completely off pitch (when the background music he needed to disguise it wasn't completely obliterating his voice, that is). Even when he hit the right note, he couldn't sustain it.

Clearly I am just in a slightly tetchy mood today. Saying any disagreements on this topic are just that, it does in change my views of people outside of that. I hope no one was offended, I have just had this same debate a lot of times and it just comes down to him being a knobhead (I don't deny that) and that clouding any view of his music.

^ No amount of auto-tune could possibly disguise the fact that he doesn't just have a 'voice'.
He should just stick to rapping (ie, talking/shouting over a re-hashed genercially dull beat borowwed from someone else) rather than attempt to sing ... unless he is prepared to take a few voice lessons first. :lol:

I'm not offended ... I really don't take any of this irrelevant trivia seriously enough to get offended when anyone else's opinion of it clashes with mine.

After all, some of my best friends like rap. Naturally I pity them ... but they are still my friends.

I actually love the video for stronger, not because of Kanye West but because of Daft Punk and the video being a recreated scenes from the anime Akira.

I absolutely love his album Yeezus and I don't think there's a bad tune on there.

The artwork is a plain disc on the front. Who ever thought of just releasing a picture of a plain disc on the front cover of a CD before?

It's genius.
