The reason a lot of people don't come out and denounce homophobia is because people speculate that they're gay. So topics like this pretty much brings up other issues.

In my opinion, a lot more people would speak out against homophobia if they themselves wouldn't be subjected to comments like this, such as "I wonder if he is gay since he has denounced homophobia". Really. It kind of promotes ignorance.

I feel like everything I wrote might of just been me babbling on, but hopefully someone got the jist of what I mean. lol

based on his denouncing of homophobia there's no telling. But, there have been rumors that he and John Legend are secret lovers. It would make sense though. A few of John Legends lyrics had me questioning wether or not they were about Kanye

Look, I'm against racism. That doesn't make me black.

It's a good statement, and I'd rather he was straight certainly, because statements coming from a straight man hold more sway over another straight man. Especially a hip hop artist; it's very mainstream, and the typical audience is male. If, say, a young kid's favourite hip hop singer publicly says it's stupid to be homophobic, I think that kid will think twice before being homophobic.

I get what you are saying. I've been going back and forth in my head for years of the suspicion surround Kanye West's sexulity. I have on a number of occassion have argued with my female friends telling them "No, Kanye West isn't gay.". Their claims is he is gay because he because the way he dresses and his own odd persona.

Might I add, Kanye has also said as recent as last summer in a magazine that he still "struggles" with his homophobia. So that alone made me wonder, what is there to "struggle" about with a fear or dislike towards those that are homosexual if you have denounced it publicly? Unless that "struggle" is not with his homophobia, but his "struggle" with his own sexuality?

Stripes, you are also not alone on the suspicious of the lyrics of John Legend's songs either. Most of his ballads are very sexually ambigious in the way it is delivered, and I've also met John Legend in person. My gaydar went off immediate upon my meeting him.

All those were in the news section of all the major search engines, as well as cnn. I read about the r. kelly thing on yahoo news.. read about raz-b's molestation accusations on there too.

The way he can get offended about not winning an award can be pretty funny in a pathetic way, but I can't deny that Kanye has talent. His Glow in the Dark tour stopped by here, and I couldn't get to it - sooo disappointed about that. The thing is, his genre typically isn't one I fare either...

I've gotta agree with Marley in saying how its nice to hear something unique in his genre, lyrically and musically...
