My remark didn't touch upon Obama's politics, rather than the less than Messianic personality behind them. I've expounded on my misgivings in several threads already. (Which makes them fit in with the general vein of this thread).

what's said off the record is exactly that - off the record. the asshole who decided to tweet the remark is a galactic idiot. the president is a human just like everyone else, and entitled to his own opinions. he should also be free to express them in a forum where his remarks aren't cascaded to the masses like this asshead did.
personally, i like that obama has a personality outside of the office. it's a breath of fresh air.

The screen DIDN'T flash his name at the bottom during the original broadcast (or the repeat that I watched right after). I don't know where you got that from. Also at the end it was cutting in and out of a commercial break because the producers were fumbling to do something. I don't think you're dumb to think of it as a publicity stunt though.
Given MTV's record... At first I thought the same exact thing. I thought he was making fun of himself actually because he's had tantrums before at the VMA's. Seriously it was not staged. He did get drunk at the event. Not saying that's an excuse but it may help us understand why the fuck he did that and wrote that awful first apology.
This isn't about race BUT when he first had one of his tantrums at the VMA's he played the race card accusing them of "not giving a black man a chance" which of course is complete bull.
I heard from a friend that people were actually BOOING when his music was played at a club and the DJ had to change it. And tickets for his tour with Lady GaGa are going on sale this week. Tons of her fans are actually contemplating whether or not they still want to buy a ticket to see her because they can't stand him THAT much.
Yeah he may love attention, good or bad. But he's not going to lose money.
I hope that's more proof for those who are HELL BENT that this was staged.
