"he never walks away, he never asks for money" is going in the hall of fame of lyrics that did not age well. backstory: the song is about her dad who left when she was a kid, the lyrics boast about her (then) husband being a good dad to their daughter and allegedly her dad reappeared post-idol fame and asked for some $$$$. fast forward a few years they're now divorced and her ex tried to take everything he could in court, he's now paying her rent to stay in the ranch they used to own.

it's not funny but it's kinda funny.

Now that you got me thinkin about it, this is probably common, wouldn't this be the ruling in any situation where the wife makes more money or has more assets? If (random hypothetical) he is unemployed and she works at Starbucks and they divorce, according to the paperwork she owes him child support or alimony, and he might actually have more than her but all his is off the books. This is why I didn't go into accounting.

I'm concerned about her thinking black really is slimming, that's an urban legend. Every televised performance I've seen in the last 5 years from her has been black dresses.
 
I never liked that aspect of the song. She was using the guy to get back at her dad and putting all that pressure on him publicly like it was his responsibility to make up for her unresolved daddy issues

I think most of the song is about being made too scared to grow, try new things etc. It’s like an overprotective mother yelling at you to stay out of the street and on the sidewalk.
