New Kelly Clarkson Track, 'Let Me Down,' Leaks Online: Listen

Kelly Clarkson-Let Me Down

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1b7_tP_EZGo&feature=player_embedded[/ame]

Let Me Down," a seething new Kelly Clarkson song that may appear on the singer's forthcoming fifth album, leaked online in its entirety on Wednesday (July 6), after snippets of the track surfaced earlier this week.

"Let Me Down" finds Clarkson railing against romantic frustration as she previously did in singles like "Because of You" and "Never Again," with a catchy guitar hook and pummeling percussion mirroring the singer's melodic woes. "I've been dying to open my eyes/See you try instead of always leaving me out to dry," Clarkson sneers before the second chorus kicks in.

Last May, Clarkson told fans on Facebook that the first taste of the follow-up to 2009's "All I Ever Wanted" would be released during the summer, following a series of leaked demos. "The recording is all done and now we're finishing up with mixing the record and getting ready to release the single in July," she wrote.

A representative for RCA Music Group declined to comment as to whether or not "Let Me Down" will appear on Clarkson's next album, which is due out this fall, or when the song will be officially released.

Kelly Clarkson - Mr. Know It All

So yesterday Kelly Clarkson released her new single live and had a live chat with her fans afterwards! I'm so glad she's coming out with new music. I wanted to post the song here for you guys.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wSKBNP-pEg&feature=channel_video_title[/ame]

What do you think? I think it's kind of different from what she's done before, but its so refreshing. I'm so sick and tired of the fast autotuned and over produced songs on radio these days. I LOVE HER VOICE. I can't get over how awesome, natural, pure, and powerful her voice is.

Her new album Stronger comes out October 25! I can't wait!

What do you guys think? Nice song? :-)

Re: Kelly Clarkson - Mr. Know It All

Sounds like something off her 2nd CD.

Love her voice, but meh.

Re: Kelly Clarkson - Mr. Know It All

I didn't like Disaster by JoJo. I hate her songs where the music is too strong. I think she sounds better in her "easier" songs like This Time and Good Ol, but I know I'm in the minority there.

But that Kelly song has grown on me like crazy. I guess I'm in the minority there too.

Re: Kelly Clarkson - Mr. Know It All

Yea she had about 5 songs leak. I guess I like it because it's nothing like Since U Been Gone or My Life Would Suck Without You. Those songs were massive but they aren't my favorite Kelly songs... in fact not even in my top 10 Kelly songs.

I like her more in songs like Already Gone, Hear Me, Because of You, All I Ever Wanted, etc. The only fast paced guitar led song of hers that I really like is Never Again.

Re: Kelly Clarkson - Mr. Know It All

I love her. She has one of the strongest voice in the pop music right now. I like this song. It's different, and I like that she brought back some elements from her first album. One of her leak "What doesn't kill you," which will be on her new album sounds amazing. It has an empowering message/ sound to it. I can't wait to buy her new album. She is so grounded and down to earth and normal with awesome vocals. Man, I love her :)

Kelly Clarkson Returns with 'Stronger' Album in October

TTwo years after releasing fourth studio album "All I Ever Wanted," Kelly Clarkson will return with a new full-length, "Stronger," on Oct. 25.

The former "American Idol" champ also announced that the album's first single, "Mr. Know It All," will debut during a live webcast on her official website on Aug. 30. The track will hit radio directly after the webcast, and will be available at all digital retailers on Sept. 5.

Clarkson's fifth album has been the victim of multiple delays: in March, the pop star told fans that the record was finished, but wouldn't be released until September. "I realize that is a long time but that's the best time to release it apparently so I'm sorry for the wait but I promise you it sounds great!" she wrote. A new single was then expected to be released in July, but a handful of leaked demos, including the seething "Let Me Down," was the only new music that hit the Web last month.

"Mr. Know It All" follows a slew of hits from "All I Ever Wanted," including "My Life Would Suck Without You," "I Do Not Hook Up" and "Already Gone." Since releasing her first album, "Thankful," in 2003, Clarkson has sold 10.7 million albums in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan; the singer is second only to Carrie Underwood (12.4 million) in sales among "American Idol" acts.

Kelly Clarkson's 'Mr. Know It All' Single

We all know Kelly Clarkson "Does Not Hook Up," but in her new single, "Mr. Know It All," she's warning suitors with a different but equally empowered message: "Baby, you don't know a thing about me." Listen below.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wSKBNP-pEg&feature=player_embedded[/ame]

"Mr. Know It All," the first single off Clarkson's "Stronger" album, premiered yesterday evening on her official website. The track hit radio directly following the webcast, and will be available at all digital retailers on Sept. 5.

During a Livestream chat coinciding with the "Mr. Know It All" debut on Clarkson's site, she discussed why the song fit as a lead single from "Stronger." "We picked 'Mr. Know It All' because it was unlike any song that, really, I've ever come out with," Clarkson said. "Secondly, just because it's very different from a first single for me. Usually we go with an anthem, guitar-driven song. This is very different, and I was relly into it… It's just super sassy and it sets up the album nicely. The whole theme is very empowering." Watch a portion of her Livestream interview below.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hf16mf6ELnc&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL[/ame]

Clarkson's lyrical message may be one of sass and strength (as fans have come to expect from her), but musically, "Mr. Know It All" is a bit softer; instead of rock-focused energy, the single goes midtempo with touches of piano and subtle strings. She sings on the chorus: "Oh, you think that you know me / Know me/ That's why I'm leaving you lonely / Lonely / 'Cause baby you don't know a thing about me / You don't know a thing about me."

The single was written by Brett James (Carrie Underwood), Ester Dean (Rihanna, Beyonce), Dante Jones, and Brian Kennedy, who also produced the track.

"Mr. Know It All" follows a slew of hits from Clarkson's 2009 album "All I Ever Wanted," including "My Life Would Suck Without You," "I Do Not Hook Up" and "Already Gone." "Stronger" is set for an Oct. 25 release date, following multiple label delays -- all of which the original "American Idol" champ chronicled on her official Facebook.

I like some of Kelly Clarkson's music, but she definitely does not have one of the strongest voices in Pop music. She was not even the strongest singer her year of American Idol.

Nobody else from her season is even relevant to pop music anymore so what does that matter? I do think her voice is amazing. And some industry people think the same too. For example:

"On an interview with Good Morning America, Simon Cowell was asked of the then six American Idol winners, who he thought had the best voice. Cowell immediately answered that Clarkson did "by a mile", noting that she was "up there" with other great singers such as Celine Dion."

You're right, no one is relevant from her season, and never was relevant. However, what I'm saying is not a matter of personal opinion. Of course, Simon Cowell is going to endorse her because she is a successful singer whom he manages. Realistically, she's not as powerful as Celine Dion.

People are going to hype those people with whom they associate in the entertainment business. For example, people were hyping Beyonce's voice a few years ago, but much of that came from people in her camp, like Kelly Rowland. I'm not telling anyone to dislike her, but she does not have the same abilities as someone like Celine.

She's not managed by him. None of the Idol winners are. If he's to praise her because she's from Idol and hence managed by him he wouldn't single her out from the other 5 winners who would also gone to him. But none of them did.

Simon owns the record company Syco, and here are the artists they currently manage:

- Il Divo (2004–present)
- Leona Lewis (2006–present)
- Andrew Johnston (2008–present)
- Alexandra Burke(2008–present, in a joint deal RCA Records 2011–present)
- Susan Boyle (2009–present)
- Olly Murs (2009-present, in a joint deal with Epic Records 2010–present)
- Labrinth (2010–present)
- Jackie Evancho (2010–present)
- Matt Cardle (2010-present in a joint deal with Columbia Records)
- Rebecca Ferguson (2010-present in a joint deal with Epic Records)
- One Direction (2010-present)
- Cher Lloyd (2010–present)
- Ronan Parke (2011-present)
- Jai McDowall (2011-present in a joint deal with Sony Music)

Kelly is under RCA, not Syco.

Concerning her label, you are correct. As for Simon's quote:

"We got so lucky with Kelly Clarkson -- season one -- because she's not just a great 'American Idol' winner. She's up there now with some of the great singers in the world," he said. "I mean, I think she's as good as someone like Celine Dion. I think she really is that good."

I am not going to claim that I knew his exact motivations. However, she was the most successful AI winner at the time of the quote. Ruben Studdard had a very powerful voice, as far as AI winners, but he did not receive the same praise. More than likely, her relevance and success had a lot to do with Simon's praising her.

Re: Kelly Clarkson - Mr. Know It All

I just listened to Kelly's new song and I like it. I haven't like her more recent stuff. I liked her second album the most. This sounds like it could have come from that era. I think it has the potential to be a hit for her.

Re: Kelly Clarkson can SING

The video was very simple, which fits the song. I don't know if this will be a hit though. I still think that Let Me Down is a stronger single than this one.

Re: Kelly Clarkson can SING

Well duh. Kelly Clarkson is the best.

Re: Kelly Clarkson can SING

i love how simple the video for mr know it all is, Kelly doesn't need to rely on being controversial or having ridiculous outfits all she needs are her amazing vocals to make it work!

Kelly Clarkson - Stronger video

Yayyyyyy she released the video for one of my fave songs off her latest CD!!
