Well. with the removal of the possibility of Susan Rice as the next secretary of state, it surely has to be time to get on with the right wing bashing of Kerry as the next prospect.

So to our growing numbers of right wing 'posters' in this forum, let's get at it.

Why is Kerry the worst possible choice and why would his nomination only underscore the fact that Obama wants to destroy America.

They want Kerry so it frees up his senate seat to get the GOP shill Brown back into office. I really do not think there is a viable Democrat in my state outside of Patrick who wants the job [he doesn't]. Politics is just one massive game of chess; moving pieces around to win.

Brown won't get back in office. His time in politics is up.

Yes, the Republicans were going to MAKE SURE that Rice wouldn't survive the process, because they want a Republican Senator from Massachusetts (who will, most likely, become "permanent" in 2014 after he runs as the temporary incumbent and wins against whatever Democrat is competing).

The Senate is important...I'VE ASKED OVER AND OVER AND OVER...WHY IN THE FUCK do political Parties (ESPECIALLY Democrats) love to steal Senators for other purposes? Leave the goddam Senate alone!! I don't know...it really pisses me off that the Democrats keep doing this. It wouldn't surprise me if they steal one or two MORE Democratic Senators for other positions as well, and it also wouldn't surprise me if they steal a Democrat from some state like North Dakota, either (where the replacement would almost certainly become a Republican).

This is one of the most stupid political things that the DNC (or, in this case, the President) does. The Republicans aren't quite as stupid as this, they just do it less often. (THINK: Robert Dole, John McCain...I don't think they had any current Senators in the 2012 mix, so maybe they've learned, and Michele Bachmann from the House of Representatives is not as crucial.)

Scream4ever, I hope you're right. Is Brown on the A-list of whatever Republican is most likely to be appointed? That's how Mass. works, right - that a replacement is appointed and ratified initially?

A baiting mess of a thread

John Kerry is a blue-blood elitist of the Democrat party. He's part of the cozy politics system in Washington. I don't agree with the notion that just because you're a veteran politician of the party, that you are somehow an expert or qualified to be nominated for Secretary of Defense or Secretary of State.

It wouldn't surprise me if the confirmation vote is UNANIMOUS (or nearly so) AYE's from the Republicans. They want Kerry out of that Senate seat...BADLY. Whatever it takes.

After all, if that nomination fails, Obama will "just" nominate ANOTHER Democrat...who, just possibly, MAY NOT cause a Senate seat to become vacant.

We all know Kerry will get it because he's beyond qualified and Obama owes it to'em after the 2004 DNC convention where Kerry gave him a pat-on-the Butt..Had Kerry gone with someone else for the Keynote address it would have taken Obama longer to make it to the White House....Obama had to pay-up at some point within his 2-terms, unfortunately it looks like he's caving to The Republicans with all the Rocks thrown at Rice.......

I will say this...Jon Huntsman did an OUTSTANDING job serving as Ambassador to China....Both parties like him and I think he'd make an excellent SOS.....He is def a wild-card that no one talks about...Jon might even be on the SOS-long-list....

Actually Kerry makes Susan Rice look pretty good in comparison...he actually in the early months of the Syrian situation pushed the idea of Assad as a reformer. He's a puffy poser, nothing more.... Susan Rice did the wrong thing by blindly going with the talking points that were signed off on rather than challenge to see ALL the reports, but I was wrong to just rip on her without taking in the whole real picture.... Obama hides under her skirt, throws her under the bus, is tickled pink by the sudden "concussion" complication of a flu ridden Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Just maybe the GOP should take him up on his suggestion and take him on regarding the whole Benghazi matter...the buck stops with him.

^ hear u on his world according to me

But rabbit ?

Who r u thinking ?

How important is this job ? Or could it be just a mouthpiece for the admin vs a critical thinker

Oh sure, let's have a certified traitor join Obama's cabinet of tax cheats and other miscreants.

John Kerry should have been put before a firing squad along with Jane Fonda and several other of that era.
This appointment, if it happens, continues to make Obama's "team" a laughingstock.

Jane Fonda should be shot ?
why ?

It is self-evidently obvious. She went to North Viet Nam, mingled with the enemy, and there is no doubt in anyone's minds that her actions got American soldiers killed.

Encouraging the enemy is one of the definition of treason. The fact that she has found religion now (well, sort of) and seems to regret her actions is small comfort to the families of those men whose deaths she caused.

Kerry face/chin is sooooo long.
John Kerry walks intro a bar.

The bartender asks him "Why the long face?"

Later, a horse walks into the same bar.

The bartender asks the horse "Why the long face?"

The horse replies "My wife is dying of terminal cancer."

(in the United States, "having a long face" is the same thing as being sad.)

Of course this is entirely ON TOPIC...oops.

John Kerry should have been shot?

Hey Readon(sic)..isn't that a little extreme? Even for you?

Oh and hey there Jack. This thread isn't about Jane Fonda.

You are disturbing.

kerry got some good lines in against romney at the dnc and did far better than could be expected when he ran for president in 2004. just goes to show how void of leadership the GOP is when the democrats have a full bench of leaders.

Hardly. Kerry's sins are many and quite public. In his testimony before congress he lied about viet nam.
He is a disgrace to the uniform he once wore.

Publiclyy denouncing your country in a time of war is a gross and flagrant abuse of free speech - much worse than crying 'fire' in a crowded theater. Too bad that bedwetting liberals lack the educationi and/or breeding to understand that.
