You know that the average age of the chickens in these places is only between 3-6 weeks old right... but despite that I'm pretty sure they're still chickens....

And that in no way is meant to sound demeaning or that animal creulty is a good thing...

But I truly wonder how many people actually stop to think about the process of getting any animal product to their plate....

But it looks soooooo delicious on my plate. In fact, I'm eating chicken I just cooked right now. With all the spices I put on it, it tastes even better!

Not to get into the whole vegan debate but humans are, by nature, omnivores. We eat vegetables and we eat meat. Yes, its gruesome how the chicken and the cow get into our freezer but it's not our fault. It is the fault of EVERYONE who wants affordable meat on their plate. The great market demand requires mass production of animal products. Even in the ancient days they were still cutting off chicken heads. There's no easy way to do it.

Is it cruelty? Is it wrong? Not if you consider that beef, poultry and pork has been the staple of the human diet for centuries. Our current, healthy human population OWES it's existence to these bold creatures who have sacrificed their lives so that our stomach could digest their juices and meat and turn it into the energy we need to go about our daily lives.

Food from KFC is disgusting, regardless of how it's prepared. The chicken is too greasy, fries taste like old pizza box cardboard, and eating more than a few spoon fulls of macaroni salad makes me nauseous.

I won't even discuss my thoughts regarding their "potato salad".

The smell of that food seeps into my vehicle after driving by one of their restaurants, even if the vents are closed. It's simply vile.

I don't really go for their chicken typically... although it is very tasty...

Their poutine however is to die for . mmmmmm... It's what I usually get when I go there.
