expose their penis or ass?...particularly when changing in the locker room? Or is it equally the same? I've always been kind of curious about this.

we the same the different...........different but the same

but i think pigs are more equal

i'd say most guys are more afraid of exposign their dick then their ass if that was the question.

otherwise I wouldn't label it a straight/gay thing but rather an age thing. In highschool everyone tried to stay covered up. In college gym people stopped caring so much.

Now when I go to the gym guys, heh especially the really older guys, don't give a fuck xD

ditto what Scottyboi said it's the younger generation older guys do not care

I go to the gym regularly so I'm in the locker room often and yeah usually the younger guys are shy and many don't even take showers and if they do they wear underwear or swim trunks, but there are some that aren't shy about nudity. Usually the older guys don't give a shit, with some walking around the locker room naked.

I've never understood the point of showering in underwear, but then again I didn't come of age in a time where you could be videoed on your mobile phone and have your wang on the net in half an hour without your knowledge.

Hopefully the next locker room you use is confined enough so you can put the hurt on the guy holding his phone straight up and aimed at you.

Unless they like being attacked by a naked dude..

I tend to think gays are more shy about this. But what the hell do I know?

Well they have good reason to be shy! Every gym in the country, even the straight ones, has at least one gay (but often closeted) creeper hanging around the locker room. Can you blame them.

Old guys don't care as much because they were born in different generation and also less likely to have pervs leering at them.

i go to the gym and pool alot, and it seems that most people are scared about showing there dick, there ass isn't a big deal. or they like hold the towel up with there chin and change behind it

I'm not so young, and I don't want to be nude in front of others. Consequently, I stay out of such situations.

I think it's all an unhealthy phobia that's increased over the years.

Oregon State University has a "Men's Pool" and a "Women's Pool" because back when they were built, no one wore a stitch when swimming. One has to wonder where the insanity has come from, and what unhealthy results it's spawned.

While I'm neither young nor straight, I'd say that I would be less inclined to flash my junk than my ass to a random stranger. That was actually a very interesting question...

It's not only young guys and not only straight guys.

It is bizarre that my generation, the sexual revolution boomers, has made our children so paranoid about pedos possibly being after them and the need to be publicly shy about their privates parts that we seem to have unleashed this incredibly repressed and ashamed generation into the world.

WTF?

When I was in my 20's all the guys just walked around naked without thinking about it. Popping chubs and all. Now it seems that the younger gen has become incredibly choosy about who and under what circumstances anyone should see their stuff.

And that if anyone is looking at their cock or ass, it is leering or perving. So what? I never cared. Why is it now such a big thing?
WTF?

Because we live in an age of creeping puritanism.

There weren't cell phones with cameras around 20 years ago

My old gym had signs up requesting members don't use cameraphones for pictures in the gym environment. My current gym does not. Either way, I've never seen anyone look like they were trying to take pictures, openly or even covertly.

Even so, I've been a member at the gym since '98, long before cameraphones were commonplace, and the numbers of guys naked in the locker room was low even back then.

Interesting how many JUBbers mention cell phones. One can only hope that if another JUBber says he got cell phone footage of a totally hot-and-hung guy in the locker room, we could all remain so above the fray. :)

Because we live in an age of creeping puritanism.

The religious right has us by the balls on this: we've been convinced that there's something shameful about our bodies, and/or that we're such weak, vulnerable people we have to hide from others.

This correctly-named puritanism has been creeping since the seventies, and it's both the product and beneficiary of fear.

Shame is something that happens in your own brain; it has no other existence. Modesty is a concept devised by people for the purpose of repression by manipulation of behavior.

You own yourselves. If you want your physical being unveiled for the world, that's your choice. Do as you wish, but remember that if you're doing it because you're worried about what other people think, you've made yourself their property -- and every time you cave in and hide your body, the religious right has won a small battle.

at my gym, only the ones with big penis expose themselves. Pretty much everyone else cover themselves the instant they get out of the shower.

This actually happened to me.

After my shower I was getting dressed by my locker and I see this older guy, probably closeted standing a few feet away facing the wall but with his phone aimed SIDEWAYS with the camera pointing right at me. I looked at him and then at his phone and then up at him again and gave him a really nasty look, he gave me a nervous smile and then left quickly (he was already dressed). I didn't tell the management because I felt so violated and since I'm gay I was afraid that they would think I invited this kind of behavior onto myself or something.

Weird thing is I saw the guy in the parking lot. I got his license plate number. He saw me however and actually had the nerve to come up to me! He was acting all nervous and shaky trying to make small talk and act all friendly, trying to save his ass, like if I didn't' just catch him taking pictures of me in the locker room. I asked him what the fuck he was doing with his phone in the locker room and he said all shaky and nervously "I.. I...nothing... was just texting a friend". Bullshit. I told him that there are posters all over the locker room explicitly stating that cell phone use is prohibited in the locker room. I'm sure he had pictures or something because why else would he have come up to me all nervous and shit? I demanded that he erase whatever pictures or videos that he took of me. He denied having done so but I kept demanding that he erase whatever he took. He knows I have his license plate and know his face, so I could call the cops on him and they could inspect his phone. I didn't know what else to do.

I'm not gonna let this experience ruin the gym for me however. I am comfortable with my body and am not shy about being naked and I will not let this experience ruin that for me. I'm gonna keep showering in the locker room because I don't want to spend the day sweaty and gross, showering at home isn't an option.

I guess I'll just be more observant now I guess. I don't know. :confused::confused:
