Although I have a love/hate/hate relationship with fascistbook and meta, over a decade or so, I have connected with random people around the world who are definitely kindred spirits and we delight and amuse and challenge one another every day.

In the same way that I enjoy the interactions here on JUB,
I look forward to the moments of interest and delight we bring to each other on FB.

Do you have this connection on any social media site?

Through Instagram, I've made a number of new connections--not simply through the ether but also in person--with fellow design professionals and others with whom I share an interest in art and design. I had lunch with one of them last week--a decorator--in Montecito and am expecting a visit in a few days from an architect who otherwise lives in Chicago. With a few old friends, IG has become as important to our correspondence as telephone conversations, email and messaging. My partner is currently in Madrid. (He was in London and, after having seen the Hispanic Society show at the Royal Academy, decided he needed to get back to the Prado. I realize this why we are partners.) We talk a couple of times a day, but also DM and message each other pictures. Even as technophobic as I am, I've found Instagram to be a source of much pleasure, information and inspiration.

I have also ventured onto Instagram, but it doesn't function well on my laptop, and I ahbor apps on my phone.

But, I get to check in on a couple of friends, as well as follow a couple of folks I feel sympatico with, like the editor of Cook's Illustrated, and Chris Evans.

I've never used Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or anything similar. Other than JUB, I have no social media internet presence.

No. I only interact with you so called humans on Jub :)
