I've always considered kissing more symbolic of the love in a relationship than he does. In my opinion, kissing someone is out of line when you are dating someone exclusively.

The only caveat to allow kissing is if it is a custom in the area. But most salutary kisses don't include the lips and tongues are just straight out. Think how you might kiss grandma, that's the type I'm talking about.

Is he only consistently kissing other guys without his boyfriends knowledge? It would be interesting to know how they act when they are together. Perhaps, this relationship isn't as solidified as you expect it to be.

Finally, sure you were upset at the moment, it seems he was too. Name calling though does not serve any purpose but to hurt someone. Next time you find yourself in an argument, you need to calmly listen to other person, emphasize with them, acknowledge their viewpoint, and respond constructively. Apologies are owed all around.

I think kissing is cheating... unless it's just a quick peck between friends, with no sexual undertones.

In this case, because of his reaction to you I think he knows he is wrong. To accuse you of being jealous was irrational and probably stems from guilt. Had he really believed it was ok he would have talked to you about it. Some people have more open relationships where this would not be seen as cheating but I suspect his isn't one of those.

kissing cheating? really depends on the two people's understanding of their own relationships with each other... thats like say oral sex is or isn't sex.. even though the word SEX is invovled.. although i am prolly starting a whole other argument with that.

In my little world it is cheating. If my partner was kissing other guys we would have major relationship problems.

Once the words exclusivity & monogamy are introduced into my world...

then what you're describing in my book IS cheating!

Of course, as mentioned, this isn't MY relationship.

He isn't MY boyfriend.

Thus, I am unaware of the boundaries within the relationship.

For some, having threesomes, fuck buddies, online sex buddies (part of what is termed frequently as an "open relationship") is quite alright; and more less something that BOTH are DESIROUS of.

I'm not of that ilk. So for me...this would be cheating; for them this may very well be a perfect arrangement.

Everyone is different.

I think the bigger questions are:

Does his boyfriend know?
Is he kissing people without his boyfriend's knowledge?
And would he be okay with his boyfriend reciprocating these very "acts" with someone else???

Absolutely hate Hypocrites!!!

Deep kissing IS certainly cheating .. it is the precursor to sexual attraction and desire for sexual activity. Like others have said, however, he and his boyfriend may have established this as OK - in my book that would be weird - but whatever floats your relationship boat - I know it would not float mine.

If he is digging his own grave with his boyfriend by doing this, let him learn from his mistake ... this does not sound like something he will stop doing based simply on your urging or advice. Standing on the sidelines and be his friend if and when the ax falls is the only thing you can do.

Is cheating in my book. But why do guys who just come out think they need a bf when they clearly need to play the field? someone just out should hold off on relationships untill they get a clear understanding on who they are and what it means to be gay.

i think its alright if he is kissing other guys!its not something bad.

No if, buts or maybes - Its cheating - If someone did that to me they would have to carry on their kissing antics with a fat lip (and without me!)

I think kissing is cheating... unless it's just a quick peck between friends, with no sexual undertones.

EXACTLY!!!!!! Kissing is definitely cheating because it's way more intimate than any other sexual act!!!!

Does his boyfriend know?
Is he kissing people without his boyfriend's knowledge?
And would he be okay with his boyfriend reciprocating these very "acts" with someone else???
Something Else has it right. It's cheating if his boyfriend can't know about it, otherwise it's for the two of them to define their relationship. Whatever you or I would do is irrelevant.

Of course its cheating.

In fact, I contend that its actually part of having sex.

He told me to back off and kissing other men was all right. He then proceeded to tell me I am a bad friend,

A bad friend?

I personally think you're a good friend.

Yes, to me, kissing is cheating. I'm a "one-man man", so to speak. If I'm in a relationship with someone, I don't go around kissing other guys. Because I respect the guy that I'm with, I respect his feelings. If he turns out to be a jerk that goes around fooling with other guys while he claims to care about me, then I tell him to have a nice day.

It depends on the type of kiss... I give all my friends a quick peck on the cheek, my closer friends I will give a quick peck on the lips. I dont consider that cheating. It can be symbolic of the love that is in a friendship. Now, if you are full on kissing someone, mouth open, tounge involved, etc, than yes, that is cheating. But, a small peck...no...at least I dont see it as such

Is kissing cheating? .... well it all depends on how the two guys define their relationship. As long as it is defined as to what can/can't be done with others and both parties are okay with that, then whatever they decide. Personally, it would depend on where my bf and I were in the relationship and how comfortable I was with everything. In the beginning, I think I would still be a bit nervous that he didn't care that much about me and so kissing would not help things. But later, when I knew that he cared about me and only me and that the kiss didn't mean anything to him, then I'd probably be fine with letting him kiss another guy.

Yeah, kissing is cheating. It is only meant for the two people in the relationship! Damn, I would be pissed if my boyfriend kissed another person!!! Wouldn't you??? Unless of course it was a family kiss or a little peck on the cheek as a sign of respect, which does happen in certain cultures...Actually, I'd still be pissed!!! Haha! Yeah, I'm the jealous type and my boy's lips and body are mine!!!

I love to kiss. I consider kissing to be an erotic and intimate part of a relationship. Kiss me passionately for a good while and I'm a goner. But if ya kiss somebody else like that, you can just keep on kissin, babe.

So yep, again, I'd have a problem with my guy kissing somebody else like that.

I'm not the type of person to try and control someone. Everyone is their own person and I don't believe that any one individual owns another. But it's a respect issue. I'd never go off fooling around with another guy if I'm in a relationship and I'd hope they'd respect me enough to feel the same way. If not, then oh well, on to other things.
