What? Me? Really?
Some decades ago I noticed that a photo of George Michael strongly resembled a photo I stumbled across of one of the early Hollywood leading men (I can't recall which, but he was in a pirate flick.)
That put me to wondering if there were some faces that were getting "recycled" in the popular media due to their appeal in proportions, bone structure, etc.
There have been studies of how models are the influencers of what we perceive as beautiful, but this is more specific, more derivative.
It came to mind today while I was working in the kitchen and the movie I was watching in the den ended and the next one was some trash fighting film with young actors I had never seen before. After I looked them up, they were in their mid-20's at the time (now early 40's) and they all had boyish faces so they could play high school kids convincingly. This reminded me of Tom Cruise and Michael J. Fox and the money they made doing the same thing.
And, one actor more than a little reminded me of Cruise, so I figure he's a knockoff. That's not to take away from his acting talents, just a comment on the market niche he fills.
So, here's Tom Cruise and Sean Faris side by side. The resemblance is stronger when they are not depicted together, as it's the main traits of the face that we remember, not the exactness.

Have you noticed any doppelgangers in film, modeling, porn, the arts, or any other celebrity?
