I kid you not. A doughnut sliced in half with a meat patty and melted processed cheese.

This was made famous by soul singer Luther Vandross, who said in an interview that he had run out of bread so he used a donut for his hamburger.

I bet its good but they should serve it right next to the cardiac ward.

Aside from the cardiac factor, those flavors seem incompatible. Not that I've tried it, and I try not to say "never", but I can't imagine that combination working. I'm not picky about taste generally. (Nutrition is another matter - a Krispy Creme tastes better than broccoli, but I'll eat the broccoli.)

It's not so different than the successful McD's McGriddles, which have sausage/ham, egg, cheese between maple syrup flavored sweet pancakes.

Good point. Maple goes with sausage and ham, and pancakes are sort of neutral compared to those doughnuts, so that sounds fine. I guess I need to try the other one before deciding. I just finished reading the entire "pussy eating" thread here, so I'm reminded that my tastes may not be typical.

Dear Jeebus! Its like diabetes and a heart attack all in one package... awesome lmao!

Anybody have the nutritional content of that abomination? I'd be curious to see if there are numbers high enough for what I assume is the calorie count, not to mention the cholesterol.

I can't find any online, but a Krispy Kreme alone has 200 calories and 10 grams of sugar. The average calorie content is guessed to be about 1,000 calories. Probably a half-tonne of sodium in it, too.

and people wonder why the obesity rate is increasing ](*,)

Indeed. In one article I found when looking for nutritional values:

It could be the world's unhealthiest snack. The ultimate in fast-food indulgence is cooked up, not by a restaurant chain, but by a minor-league baseball club, reports CBS News correspondent Cynthia Bowers. Despite having a charming ballpark just outside St. Louis, the Gateway Grizzlies will likely never be renowned for their brand of baseball — one step below Single-A ball. But they're already famous at the concession stand. Or should that be infamous? It's sweet like a doughnut, and then you've got the hamburger. You’ve read that right. It's a burger with cheese and bacon, sandwiched between a Krispy Kreme doughnut — a heart attack waiting to happen. A burger so perfect, they say, tampering is discouraged. “You're ruining it!

You're not supposed to put ketchup on it!” Bowers says to a diner. “Well, I don't know. It's my first time,” he replies. For a mere $4.50 it's breakfast, dinner, and a little dessert all in one. That it packs up to 1,000 calories — the donut alone has 10 grams of sugar — doesn't seem to faze diabetic diner Floyd Schuetz. “Oh, I’ll have another one of these,” he says.

People used to eat high cholesterol and sugar/salt and didn't even know cholesterol existed.

It's good nutritious food, but we consume way too much of it.

Throughout most of human history, they didn't have the abundance of food we have today and they burned most of the calories off during the work day.

Today's issues aren't so much about the fat calories, it's about combining over eating with sitting in a chair all day.

I don't know what has happened to vegetables and fruits on the menu, either. It's like they're gone.

if you're in good shape and eat well on a reg' basis,

i'd say try one.

why not, one burger is not going to kill you.

I'd actually like to try one of them. :D

I like the salty/sweet combination.

Oh, truth be told I'd take a big ol' bite out of one as well. I'm curious what it tastes like...

Don't know that I could finish one, though. Maybe we should split one.

I'll drive. ;)

Anything by Krispy Kreme is disgusting.

This concoction is unbelievably so.
