Lactose intolerance and the evolution of human digestion

I'm lactose intolerant only to milk. I can still eat as much yogurt and cheese as I want.

*Side note*
White people with dreadlocks is creepy, I can just imagine what they have to do to their hair to accomplish that.

Remember cheese and yogurt are fermented and food enzymes change the structure of food. Like grapes to wine.

I'm not pro dairy, if anything we should be drinking goats milk and eating sheep's cheese. And the if one is drinking non organic dairy is just beyond belief.

I like my kefir now and then.

I need to stop drinking milk because I get food allergy from it. Yogurt I have no problem with.

Coconut milk is better

^
that is one of the biggest things that I noticed this year at the natural products expo. Many more companies bringing out coconut milk products, even in half gallon sizes, which I have never seen before.

I'm all about the soy.

Human beings are the only species on the planet that drink the milk of another species.

^No - because coconut milk is loaded with fat. But as a flavouring can be ok.

I never gain from it... but the fat you maybe talking about could be the healthy fat that our body need.;)

I wonder who produced that site. A milk counsel? ;)

There's too much estrogen in soy milk for men to drink often. It will give you man-boobs.#-o

soy product messed with penis growth during puberty, I heard.

soy has estrogenic properties, not good for men or women.

coconut milk is great too, and a vvery healthy source of fat. not all fats are bad. we as humans need Omega fatty oils.

i'm really into almond milk.

People are not allergic to soy, per se, but rather it has been genetically modified with the brazil nut. which may be causing the allergy.

soy is so full of pesticides, GMOs, and estrogen. toxic!

*Male children fed soy formulas and soy products may not ever get to like girls. *Doris Rapp MD, the worlds leading pediatric allergist, asserts that environmental and food estrogens are responsible for the increase in male homosexuality and the worldwide reduction in male fertility.

Ok, this just strikes me as being too funny.

According to this one:

http://circ.ahajournals.org/cgi/content/full/113/7/1034#SEC5

from the American Heart Association, the danger is with the isolated isoflavones used in supplements, not with soy itself which possesses them in safe levels. I would be inclined to believe it, because it's a familiar story that when you humans start fucking around with natural things, we make them dangerous, as with our lovely inventions cocaine and trans fats.

I'll talk about the "totalityofbeing.com" article separately.

He makes some odd claims:

"Cancer comes from having too much estrogen" - Estrogen has been shown to decrease the risk of cancer.

"the increase in male homosexuality" - Huh? When did (and how would) anyone quantify this?

"worldwide reduction in male fertility" - Once again I'd like to see the numbers. Also, how many people are eating soy that weren't before? I doubt it to be enough to cause a notable trend, even if the effects were real.

Finally, with the exception of the last, every study he cites deals with people given the isolated estrogens/isoflavones that the AHA article I linked to before said were the bad thing, not soy in its natural state.

If you use a little critical thinking, it becomes apparent that this guy is a sensationalist quack. Or you could just look at his website: "Totality of Being", "Martial Arts", "Spirituality", "Favorite Supplements", "Audio"! His name has a trademark for god's sake!
