No shade but that performance of BTW was a fuckin MESS. I was rooting for her when she did The Edge of Glory then she did Judas and it was good. But Born this way was all over the place and her vocals were sloppy.

Wow, she was all over SNL last nite I see. Thought she did a good job and seemed to be enjoying herself in the skits.

Looking forward to purchasing her album at midnight and will be listening for the first time. I'm still liking "Judas" (enjoyed her performance on SNL) more then anything I've heard so far.

I don't understand this either, especially for anyone who is over the age 18 with this mentality. SMH. Being a stan via the Internet gives one a warped perception of reality. Hardly anyone in the real world gives a damn about chart success or pop star supremacy, as long as the music is delivering on any level is all that matters. So there's enough room for all to coexist within everyone's iPod, some are way too invested in their personal faves and just simply refuse to like anyone else they see as a "rival." (Not total shade at GiancarloC but moreso the general attitude about stan wars.)

To be fair, it's difficult to dance and sing at the same time. It's even harder when you're wearing skintight leather and a fake baby bump!

I liked the beer store/wine store sketch, the one where they're taking names and Gaga knows them all, and the SNL short. That's about it. :'( But I liked the Edge of Glory/Judas medley.

Actually, her lack of musical identity is completely evident if you've ever listened to her albums. Can you tell me what her style is? Nope. Because she doesn't have one. Her second and third albums are a mishmosh of incohesive tracks, all clearly inspired by other artists. "Let's see, I think I'll do one song where the melody is lifted from Ace of Base... Another where the breakdown is blatantly stolen from Madonna... Throw in one that's supposed to sound like it was sung by Freddie Mercury... And, just for good measure, I think I'll throw in an awkward early-90's freestyle dance track. Tada! The Fame Monster is complete!"

I don't blame her. She's barely 25, and this is only her second full-length record. In a few years, she'll have developed a musical identity. Till then, we'll just have to endure a few more rip-offs and recreations.

And yes, you're right, Gaga constantly talks about how she writes her own music. But who cares when her most poignant lyrics are "You're Lebanese, you're orient" and "Wear an ear condom" and "I wanna take a ride on your disco stick"? Maybe she'd be better off going the same route as Elvis, Barbra Streisand, and Frank Sinatra -- you know, all those fake artists who performed songs written by other people.

I wouldn't say she steals from anyone, just that she samples and borrows heavily from other artists. Nothing wrong with doing that every now and then. When it frequent is when there's a problem, at least to me. It makes you seem unoriginal and tired.

And I despise this fan mentality that if you state criticism, you're a hater. A true fan gives criticism because honesty sprouts improvement.

^I love the choreography for Judas and BTW, but she should slow it down a bit while she performs. Those moves are very intricate and require a lot of physical movement. Those two things while trying to perform is a very hard thing to do. She has backup dancers for a reason; let them do the whole dance. LOL

I like her best when she's on her piano as well. It's just vocals and her piano.

I think what MoePhoenix7 is trying to say is that people should be able to have a good debate/discussion without sayint stuff like "get out of the thread" and similar things. That makes you come across as a fanatic (not saying you are one, just that saying certain things might make you look like one). One can defend an artist withour resorting to those "tactics".

Honestly, I'm glad Gaga is one of those rare types of artists that people either love or hate. Makes her even more interesting. She leaves no one indifferent.

Agreed. I can honestly say that I haven't looked forward to an album release in a long time. Definitely going for the deluxe version!
