Looking for a new laptop...but I don't really know where to start!

Must be:
- big on memory
- fairly sturdy
- CHEAP

Any suggestions?

(How much does this read like a personal ad?)
 
Are you going for a build/customize or store bought? Portability? For customizable laptops, I guess you can't go wrong with a dell especially with the price. If you're patient I'd wait until they have a special. They tend to have those pretty often throughout the year.
 
It's just going to be for internet browsing and word processing really, but I'd like a decent amount of RAM just in case (my current computer is suffering as a result of low RAM).

I think I'm gonna be patient and wait for W7 to come out anyway, no point in getting shitty Vista only to have it go out of date in less than a month!
 
For just that, a $300-$400 dell laptop is all you need.
