Preparations for the 18 November 2023 Formula One Race in Las Vegas has made the city a nightmare for citizens. Of course taxpayers will end up paying the price for hosting the race, these "deals" between politicians and corporate types always give the F1 to ordinary locals - that's what chumps are for!

Jacob predicted all the issues in this video months ago. Anyway, act surprised when you hear about the fine mess Formula One is making in Las Vegas.

There's certainly money in Formula One. The former "F1 Supremo" Bernie Ecclestone has recently received a suspended prison sentence and been required to pay £653 million (US$808 million) in avoided taxes, interest and penalties to His Majesty's Revenue and Customs.

Issues with F1 in Vegas started almost as soon as they signed the contract.

If the union was smart they would full out strike on the 17th.

Tourists are mad so much is blocked from being seen.

Mostly I just feel bad for the workers. Tourist are taking their anger out on them. Also a lot of workers are saying it can take an hour to two hours to go to and get home from work, without any extra pay. They are just out their free time.

Is it a night race? It would only be interesting to watch in Vegas if it’s a night with the lights.

I'm going to Vegas Nov. 26. I hope the F1 nonsense is over by then.

I get emails from Ellis Island casino/hotel and they're quite excited about the race. They're off the Strip, on Koval, but apparently the race route passes them.

I like Las Vegas! This trip I'm staying downtown at the Golden Nugget.

Enjoy your trip.

I feel the same way as you about F1. If I was planning to visit an F1 venue, I'd make absolutely damn sure that my visit didn't coincide with the event.

Yes, this is a night racing event and the "spectacle" is waay more important than the "sport".

And per Las Vegas' conservative newspaper, it was a huge success. Bigger even than next year's Suprr Bowl. WHA??

Thing is they can't admit it was a failure so they can only say it was a success. And it very well may have been, but mom and pop places got hosed.

What surprised me was the variety of coverage I found online. Formula 1 tried to lock down on any non-paying spectators, but I found some interesting sites that made following the race enjoyable.

Oh, the Sphere! I saw it in Las Vegas last week. It's awesome. This is the view from Twain Avenue, near two gay bars, Flex and Fun Hog Ranch. (I only drank at Fun Hog Ranch because happy hour drinks were 2-for-1 and that was enough booze for me.)
