Has anyone been to all three? If so which was your favorite?

I like Atlantic City and Las Vegas both for different reasons. Atlantic City is great because it's on the ocean and very relaxing. I'd much rather go there if I was looking for an easygoing vacation. Las Vegas is more of the place I go when I just want to get fucked up and spend lots of money. Both are great, but definitely offer different things. I don't see myself returning to Reno anytime soon.

I am a bit biased because I grew up in Philly and as a result have been to AC a ton of times growing up, so to me it's nothing new, like Nevada would be.

I’m the opposite of you then. I have been to Las Vegas quite a few times, it is my favorite vacation spot. I have also been to Reno once and frankly it is a hole. I know nothing of Atlantic City though.

I’m just curious which city people think is more appealing

In your opinion then what is the big draw to Atlantic City besides the ocean?

Vegas, Mandalay Bay. Can't beat the experience--Spa, beach (yes, artificial beach and river) great restaurants and bars and a good casino that virtually smoke free due to it's design. Decent amount of gay guys and the age factor is mostly 30's. Atlantic City is a pit. Reno is old west....

I don't really like to gamble, but I have Been to all three places. Reno= pit, AC = pit, Vegas fun, so in would pick Vegas.

I've been to AC and Vegas. For Gambling Vegas is much better, more than twice as many casinos, and they get the latest slot machines first there.

Hm, not much I guess. It really is just another small ocean town but with some casinos. I guess that's enough of a draw for me, though.

It's a city, not a small town, world's first and longest boardwalk.

Trivia: Monopoly is based on the streets there.

Atlantic City. It's cool and historically interesting to me with the Boardwalk and all. Vegas is a tacky soulless hole where culture goes to die (e.g. the stupid Reader's Digest condensed versions of musicals). Reno is a Beadazzled truck stop from what I hear, but if forced to go to one of the Nevada once just because of it's road trip mystique. I find gambling incredibly boring, so I'm judging these based on their other entertainment value, and honestly there's a thousand other places I'd rather go.

ATLANTIC CITY: Great boardwalk (unlike anything at the other two places), but go only two or three blocks west and you're in a completely different world of slums and poverty.

LAS VEGAS: The city of choice, if I'm going there for the gambling, the shows, and the nightlife. Neither of the others, and perhaps nothing else other than New York City and one or two others, compare for the buzz of activity and nightlife. But, as with other "24-hour cities," it's a very crowded, mad, and busy place.

RENO: Pleasant, laid-back, and friendly. My definite choice among the three. If I was told that I had to LIVE in one of the three, it would be Reno without question. Reno also seems to be, by far, the most health-conscious of the three.

Las Vegas would be the choice for a vacation, when the objective is to completely unwind and be wild.

I'm not considering climate in any of this.

I have never been to AC, but I agree completely with what you said about Las Vegas. As for Reno I was there once as a kid and everything I saw besides Circus Circus looked like it needed to be knocked down and rebuilt. And in fact within a few years from when I was there I heard most of the places I went to were. With that said the place may be a lot better now, but with Vegas always on my mind I will never find out.

Reno will always hold a place in my memory though. It was where I got kicked out of my first casino.

Last time I went to Vegas it was 69 in Portland. When I landed in Las Vegas it was 106. I love Las Vegas, but I feel the people that live there fulltime are nuts. It is way too hot there.

Next time I am Vegas I am going to have to spend more time in Mandalay Bay. Just from what you wrote it seems to be my kind of place. I have always went through it quickly since I don't gamble. I guess I missed a lot.

The Boardwalk would be interesting.

As for what you said about Las Vegas; there is so much to do there that has nothing to do with gambling. Yes it has some condensed versions of musicals, but it also has full versions and original productions. You should give it a try some time.

I think it would be for me as well. It would mix my love for the water with my love of casinos.

Just for this I would like to go there now. I’d feel like I’m cheating on Vegas though.
