Las Vegas Republican Debate

What a horrifying thought that any of these clowns could be POTUS.

I truly hope this puts Perry out of the race. We cannot endure another Texan in the WH.
See my thread about Climate change and his ideas.

GOP Debate: Perry and Romney Get Physical; Cain Given Pass on Koch Connections
Perry was determined not to bumble, and came off looking nasty. Romney got rattled and put his hands on Perry. And nobody asked Cain about his connections to David Koch.
October 19, 2011 |

Texas Gov. Rick Perry strode onto the presidential debate stage at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas last night as a man who had something to prove: he had to prove that he could speak coherently and that he had an idea or two. Instead he wound up proving that he is one nasty piece of work.
--snip--

At the start last night's debate, Perry described himself as the "authentic conservative" in the race, "not a conservative of convenience" -- a clear swipe at Romney's evolution from a more moderate politician to his current right-wing incarnation, and a reminder to evangelicals watching in Iowa, South Carolina and Florida of Perry's presumably superior genuine-ness in a less earthly realm.

all of these guys would be puppets for the corporate agenda except for maybe paul, people like him and huntsman get ignored for saying anything sensible.

look at Obama, he does as much as look at corporate people wrong and they call him a socalist etc.

u want to be a corporate slave the rest of your life? vote republican.

obama is our only hope right now, its sad because its true.

They did a good job attacking each other. The fur was flying!

The winner of this republican debate was President Obama.

the winner was Pres. Obama?

hardly

latest poll has cain beating him
latest important states polls says BO is in a heap of trouble - ohio, pennsylvania, virginia and many other swing states are swinging ............. RIGHT

Michele Bachman had some good moments - destroying Cain on his swapping terrorists for a US soldier - she's got moxy if nothing else

Gingrich if not for his sordid personal sitch is quite a listen

Perry is a mess - facts wise, tonality - the whole shooting match (no pun intended) - he just cannot articulate a position or follow up with anything worth saying/hearing

Romney actually caught my attention - as he got a little mean - which IMO for him is good - Jon Meachem today on Morning Joe said he went from being a caricature to a character - liked that - Morning Joe is amazing btw ;)

Cain was exposed .............. 9-9-9 romney killed him on said "like your chutzpah but it hurts the lower/middle class" - BINGO

he's taken folksy as far as it should go - IMO he's gone from likeable nobody to obnoxious know it all

HUntsman opting out is a mystery - and a sign of ............. continued vacuum in the republican party

where's rudy?

I've watched some more clips.

What a train wreck.

You'd all have to be nuts in the US to let any one of these carpet baggers and nutcases sit in the Oval Office.

did anyone notice romney in explaining his landscaper with illegal aliens .........

said something to the effect "that i told the guy I'm running for office I can't have an illegal alien working for me"

he didn't want the guy cause he was running for office

i think he will regret that

So he was for hiring illegal aliens before he was against hiring them?

He also came off as whiny. Even after Perry stopped talking over him, Romney kept complaining about it just to get a reaction.

MICKEY MOUSE 2012

I was able to review much more of the content on right winger radio, NPR and CBS. I retract my previous assessment. Romney sounded like a ten yo crying to Mom that "he's touching me"...... That will play well as a BHO talking point ad. "I'm speaking, I'm Speaking, I'm speaking, I'm speaking.... " said rapidly and with a whine will make a nice DEM ad as well. They did arm the opposite party with wonderful sound bites.

I was curious as to why no one was saying anything about Huntsman today, but it turns out that he declined to attend the debate.

I think he was trying to use it to build support in New Hampshire, because there's some bristling feathers over Nevada moving up its primary dates and attempting to up-stage NH.

I've arbitrarily decided that the next debate is the do-or-die time for Huntsman. it's a debate focused on foreign policy, and if Ambassador Huntsman can't have a breakaway performance on the area that's supposed to be his expertise, he probably won't ever have one.

I don't know if Huntsman is just giving up on the west but he also announced in protest he will not campaign in ?? Arizona ?? because they are among the other unruly children states who have decided to move their primaries up to one up New Hampshire and the other three decider primaries.

As a off topic idea I have believed for some time that the primary day should be federally designated so as to truly gauge the opinion of the American people on the candidates and remove the penchant for people to simply bandwagon the apparent winner from earlier primaries. No one likes to associate with a loser. Hence the fairweather fan in sports. So take it away from all of them. That would also significantly change campaigning. New Hamsphire and their weird fucking system would no longer see 25% of the Presidential campaign time.

Mitt will live to regret many of the things said in this run up. Ultimately I think the conservatives will hold their noses and support him and he is imminently beatable by BHO.

Of course remember just a short time back the slef appointed pundits around here were weeping that the democratic process prior to 2008 would weaken their final gladiator. It made him stronger.

I think it depends on your definition of "hire."

Romney employed a landscaping service that employed illegal immigrants. I believe that when Romney discovered this, the illegal immigrants were fired (but he kept using the same contractors who hired them).

I didn't make my point clear perhaps

i take no issue (if all true) that romney hired co. - which hired illegals - which he found out about - told them to stop - they didn't - he fired them

the idea that his reference point during the debate was "don't you know I'm running for office ......... I can't have illegals"

as if ............. he could if he wasn't running for office

the dems have already jumped on it - as they should

might be the IT moment for his failed campaign

Oh Chance it is 100% true. The story was all over MA press a while back. It was at his lake house in NH.

I hire for the US Govt and wish i could hire illegals.

Honestly the 11million aren't going anywhere. SO why not provide a path that benefits us all?

Notice that MSNBC is working 24-7 (in primetime) to discredit Romney

He's the Rep frontrunner (sorta)

Matthews Maddow ODonnell and Ed are doing the dirty work for Axelrod

Very sad

Much worse partisanship than on Fox

Matthews actually was arguing with his "guest" Ron Reagan yesterday - RR said he thought Romney's hand on Perry shoulder was authentic and not aggressive

Chris was like "but I say it was"

What a band of fools

Romney continually discredits himself. He doesn't need MSNBC's help, or anyone else's.

That's what I like... constructive criticism!

pretty simple Chris

Fox takes heat for being pro Republican - which is fair - cause they are - actually people here have a canary about it ..........

MSNBC in primetime since the Repub debate is non stop romney bashing

when actually most/many think he did fine - actually showed a fucking pulse by putting perry in his place - that perry bringing up this sorta phony issue was lame - a desperate move perhaps

MSNBC which is vested in re-election for BO is just a mouthpiece for david axelrod - their POV is his talking points

and right now that mission is to fuck romney

did u know the pres raised 70million in the 3rd quarter?

hmmmmmmm

and right now that mission is to fuck romney
Please review Mitch McConnell's ambition - to make Pres. Obama a one-termer. What's good for the goosee is good for the gooser.
did u know the pres raised 70million in the 3rd quarter?
Were any laws violated?
Let's discuss lapel pins and dark mustard, very constructive endeavors. :=D:

^ $70 million raised doesn't bother you?

Not very 99%
