Laser hair removal

I started getting hair on my ass around age 15 and by the time I was 20 I was done with it. I went to a plastic surgeon who performs laser hair removal in San Francisco and began receiving treatments. After six treatments I would say I have about 20% the amount of hair I had before I started and it's been two years without any regrowth. I plan to go back sometime in the next few years and get down to nearly 0%. It cost me about $1000 dollars for six treatments. It is painful and the numbing cream definitely helps. Hope this helps... you can PM me if you want more info.

What laser did you use? Didnt it give you skin problems like redness, pimples and other thigns like that?

^^

The "pimples" are ingrown hairs, etc. When the hair's gone form the root, there will be no pimples.

If there is a hair root in the follicle then it will be basically dissolved by the laser. I'm not sure what type of laser they used on me but the plastic surgeon I went to was board certified and personally inspected my skin type so the technician would be using the correct type of laser at the correct setting. My ass got a little red afterward but that went away by the next morning. I recommend it!

It isn't that big of a deal... I happen to like guys with hair on their bodies... I just didn't like it much on myself.

I wasted a whole lot of money on laser hair removal, i've seen a reduction but no where near where I wanted it to be, nor what they said I could expect. My hair is dark under normal light but blondish under bright light. My advice, unless your hair is super super dark and you have fair skin, waxing is soo much better, for 20$ a month, i can wax my whole body much quicker and with a lot less pain than the lasers.

The grass is always greener on the other side. I am so hairy, I look like a black-haired wookie, and when I go swimming, I look like an otter caught in an oilslick. Right now it's all on my chest, abs, arms and legs. Thankfully, not that much backhair yet. Just wait till I'm 40. Guys who lack hair always want more; guys who have it always want less. Anyone want a hair donation from me?

It works best on dark hair and fair skin. Hair length does not matter because they shave it first.

Hair follicles can only be killed while in the active growth stage, and not all hair in one area is growing all the time. So after the shaving and laser treatment there will be a percentage still alive. After each treatment this percentage gets smaller and smaller, and amounts of hair growth get smaller and smaller.

Eventually you can expect a regrowth of less than 10%, but there is never a 100% guarantee.

I have sparse hair (some distance between each) on my back.... does this mean that NEW HAIRS can come through in the next few decades because that they will not have been killed if I got the treatment now?

I get my shirt off ALOT (most beach loving Aussies do - besides I'm a total exhibitionist) so I want all the hair gone

So, how many treatments have you had and how long ago was the last one?

In other words, you don't really know yet if it's gonna grow back or not...

I've also had two treatments on my back and frankly I don't see a difference except to my bank account... but then again I'm blonde.
