There's nothing like having it in your hand, looking at the cover art, and thumbing through the liner notes while the CD is playing. And when finished, slotting it in a spare slot in your CD rack, with the title displayed.

I saw a TV interview where a bunch of young guys were being asked about their fascination with vinyl records. Why buy a hulking great clump of plastic when you can download it effortlessly off the net?
"Because you can touch it.....it's in your hands....you can feel it and see it as well as hear it..........when you download music...you've got nothing!?!"
Personally, I haven't put on a vinyl record in a couple of decades, but I do remember the excitement, the air of portent, when you heard that static scratching of the needle settling on that black plastic......then the music played. And for the next 40 minutes you were transported.
I mostly listen to music via my mp3 player when I'm jogging, walking, or waiting. I don't know the titles of songs anymore. I don't know the words to songs anymore.
I think these young guys are on to something!
