Last Harry Potter movie to be split into 2 parts!

The first part's coming out Nov 2010 and the second part in May 2011. This way the don't have to cut anything from the book and piss fans off and WB has an extra 1 billion dollars! And David Yates (the guy who directed order of the phoenix) is directing both films.

noooOOOooooo I dont like david yates, I liked movie 5, but i think it could've been so much better, WB should keep switching directors!

Im super excited for the last 3 films, I cant wait to see them!

I wonder what the series would be like if Chris Columbus directed all the films.. probably not as dark as OOTP.

and movies 4 and 5 felt so rushed I hated it. especially all the parts before hogwarts.

I'm kind of disappointed that David Yates will be doing the last two films. I thought he did a really good job with Order of the Phoenix, but something I always admired about the Harry Potter film series was that they were always using different directors. I think it's what really sets the series apart from most other franchises for me. It's just really interesting how all of the movies (except the first two) have had completely different moods, styles, acting, etc. Too bad, though. It would have been great if they brought back Cuaron to do them instead, though.

The director of the 3rd film- Curozon (SP?) should do it-that was the best one.

You're right. I also liked the story of the 3rd book best of all already. The scene when harry saves himself from the dementors at the lake was the best part in all the HP-books!!!

David Yates is the best choice for DH. He got great acting performances out of the cast and made the movie much more cinametic than the other directors. And since DH is so epic this is the guy who should be making the film(s).

Btw where do you guys think they should end part I? I think harry/ron/hermione flying off on the dragon into the horizon would be a killer ending. It would leave so much suspence for the Par II.

Spielberg passed on directing the first one, and throughout the years I kept hearing rumors that he wanted to direct one of the movies and last year his name came up for directing the Deathly Hallows movies.

Any-hoo, he would have been awesome. And I'm sure it would have been such an honor for the cast (especially the lead 3) to be directed by him.

But in the end, I like that a Brit is directing the final movies. It's only fitting. The whole book series and the movies are fantastic Brit productions!

Agreed. The guy that did #3, bring him back, he's the only one who got it totally right
