Last Movie You Watched

All Over the Guy - reviews weren't so great but thought the guys were great and it was sweet

Le Cage aux Folles (the original) - It wasn't as much fun as I remembered it, except for this scene

The Dark Knight....a lot of action but it seemed a bit long; maybe it was because I didn't get out of the movie until 12:30 a.m.!

Supposed to see it on the IMAX here soon....

Batman Begins

Since I saw the Dark Knight, and having never seen the first one, I had to go back and watch it

Okay judge me all ye want but The Haunting remake and before that Barb Wire.

They aren't all bad.

A film that I like is Dead Poet's Society. It has aged terribly but the ending is still tear inducing. This was my first viewing of actor Josh Charles and I wasn't disappointed. His performance is delightful.

Predator, for the first time in years. I don't want to sound like my judgement is being clouded by nostalgia (Predator was always one of my favourites when I was a kid) but there is something about movies from this period (mid to late 1980's) that a great many more recent efforts lack. In this instance, I'd say alot of that comes from the slow build, the way tension is cranked up and cranked up with only a few suggestions as to what might be out there, until...bam! A fantastically choreographed action/horror sequence in which an entire military unit is taken out piece-meal by what is surely one of the most iconic, beautifully designed monsters this side of Giger's "Alien." Even "The Governator," is fairly passable in it (this was made before production-line camp-fests like Commando). Highly recommended action/horror romp.

I now have my pick for tonight!

Executive Decision (1996) directed by Stuart Baird and written by John and Jim Thomas (I think). Produced by Joel Silver. Starring Kurt Russell and Halle Berry. Also starring John (can't spell his last name), B.D. Wong (from Oz!), Whip Hubley, David Suchet, the great Oliver Platt and Joe Morton.
