LaVeyan Satanism

Just to clarify this type of Satanism is not what's adapted in the Christian Bible that type of Satanism is called Theistic Satanism, black masses orgy's e.t.c. all completely generalized in the media!.

Anyway I first discovered about LaVeyan Satanism through one of my friends at College when we were talking about different non main stream religions. I was very curious about it so I decided to do some research about it on-line and much to my amazement most things I read about it made perfect sense to me so I went ahead and bought the Satanic Bible on Amazon and sat and read that and I found myself beliving in this type of Satanism a lot more as most of the things that was written I agreed with e.g. "Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it, instead of love wasted on ingrates".

When I tell most people I am a Satanist they look at me as if I should be locked up lol it's rather funny considering most Satanists are Atheist or Agnostic it just proves lack of knowledge on there part about LaVeyan Satanism!.

But the point of this thread is that I was wondering if anyone else had came across or indeed believes in LaVeyan Satanism like I do, it's purely ment as a discussion and a mature one at that

I appreciate the premium Satanists put on aesthetics. Kenneth Anger realized that beautifully. Most Satanists seem like failed LARPers, though.

Some of the language that I have heard form Satanist is just precious. Like that whole "if someone offends you three times you can destroy them" and other overblown pronouncements. It seems more like a gothic accessory than a religion.

LaVeyan is the perfect hipster religion, complete with the stroking of the already huge ego and the refinement of that fake smug sense of self worth that is at the core of all its ideals. If you think this farce is Satanism, then you're not giving Satan enough credit.

Ummmm... I don't think you read his post very carefully. He states 1. this is not theistic Satanism; and 2. most Satanists are atheist or agnostic. Generally atheists and agnostics do not believe in Lucifer, Beelzebub, Satan, or Astaroth either.

A Satanist who doesn't believe in God? Must be like a Christian who doesn't believe in Christ. I understand.

^ Laveyan Satanist don't believe Satan is an actual deity. It doesn't have much to do with the Satan that is represented in the holy bible. I don't really see how it is a "religion", either. They're more like Atheists with different philosophies on life.

LaVeyan's don't even believe in a literal Satan which defeats the purpose of calling yourself a Satanist,and is why they spend so much time rying to explain how they are satanists,as well as why they are on a campaign to rewrite the definition in dictionaries and encyclopeidas to fit them.


Sort of like being a Christian without believeing in Christ..No one would believe that person is a Christian,so no ones going to believe a laVeyan is a satanists.

LaVeyan satanism is nothing more then atheistic-human is wrapped up in the trappings of a religion!

I'm confused, if you don't believe in Satan, why are you calling yourself Satanists - and if you are a Satanist, aren't you by default a defacto Christian?

I guess it's more appropriate to say, Laveyan Satanism is the real embodiment of what the fictional Satan represents.

Of course there are other forms of Satanism. I recall there are actual demon worshipers that believe satan is one of many gods and demigods.

There are those that believe in a literal Antichrist and think they will be rewarded in hell or some other place when they die..
