  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Learn something new every day about straight women.

Hmm...

Well, I think it's almost always a mistake to frame an argument with a 'guys do this and girls do that' perspective.

It's a broad and somewhat ignorant stroke to think that members of either sex all behave in the same way. We know that's not true.

I think sexual attraction in general is a really tough knot to figure out. I've known plenty of str8 women that love to look at pictures of naked guys and hard cocks and all, and others that would be mortified at the very thought.

Why this is is anyone's guess, but I think it has to do with those all important first 5 years of life when all of your perceptions are being formed for the first time. Why do most of us see a golden retriever and think, 'nice doggie' while some freak in the closet thinks, 'Boy, I'd like to tap that..."

Heh

I'm straying from the point, which is NO one knows why what turns us on turns us on, it just is...

I DO think that a lot of women lie about what they find sexually appealing. It's some strange construct in our society that 'nice girls' aren't supposed to think about such things, and a lot of women buy into that nonsense.

Plus, a lot of str8 guys have that 'Madonna / whore' complex. Girls are either sluts or they're virginal. The sluts are great when you're horny, but it's the Madonna's you take home to Mom, marry and have kids with...

Maybe women that want a husband and a white picket fence and 2.5 kids do their best to be the 'Madonnas'.

Who knows ?

Do you not watch TV where guys are exposed? (I hunt for it on TV) girls reaction to nude men is basically revolting.

It's generally believed that the female form is a thing of beauty while males' genitalia is gross even ugly.

Women orgasm by thoughts and physical contact, not by visual displays, even displays of huge dicks. Funny cause gays are usually so much like women ;)

This is, by far, one of the most interesting discussions I've run across "here" on JUB! It also happens to be one of my great Fascinations ... testosterone vs. estrogen. The difference in perceptions/reactions between the sexes, and the various sexual orientations. We Humans are SO complex! ..|

Are we all interested in naked bodies, male and female? Of course we are, even if just out of curiosity, whether we admit it, or not. The question is, to what degree, and, far more complex, Why?

I think everyone that has posted has pointed to at least one nugget of the overall Truth. The "problem" is putting all those pieces together to get the "Big Picture".

All of us are stimulated by the visual, tactile, emotional, conceptual, but to differing levels depending on each of our individual set of "Hot" buttons. And, there are as many different "sets" of buttons as there are individual people! :help:

Some of those "buttons" are hardwired at birth, and some are "learned" depending on how we are raised, and the personal experiences that we run across. Everyone IS different! There are no Set "Rules"! #-o

But, in GENERAL, Guys are more visual, Gals are more cerebral. That doesn't mean that Guys don't like stories, or that Gals don't like pictures. Both conjure up images/situations in our heads. It's a matter of which stimulates us more than the other. And whether it's about naked guys vs. naked gals depends on our orientation.

When I was younger, late teens/early twenties, I was turned on by naked People of either sex! Then again, what was likely turning me on was merely the idea of Sex, period! (Yeah! I was THAT Horny!)

As I got older, my preference for Guys became more prominent. My stronger reaction to the Visual still holds, though! :-<

(Must be why I like Smilies, and don't like being limited! *tantrum*)

Keep smilin'!!(*8*)

(I'm a Guy: Show me pictures/diagrams. Don't expect me to read the directions!)

Speaking purely for myself, my brain is too complex to simply be aroused by a naked man in a room.

For me the first thing I am going to think is "why the hell is that man naked?" Then any number of scenarios will be conjured up and it will just be too late to get excited in any way because I will be too concerned with why there was suddenly a nude man in the room when I hadn't planned on seeing any naked men in that room that day. Which again proves my point of context.

And as for attraction to men, again speaking for myself, I am initially attracted to a guy's humor and kindness before I even wonder what he looks like with no clothes on. Physically I am attracted to eyes, hands and lips, all which can be seen without him showing me his dick first ;)

LOL that's great. I honestly think most women are similar though. They have to be in the right mood while guys will think about sex every part of the day.

I'm more intrigued by this particular thread than I have been in a while here at JUB.

Speaking from personal experiences, any time there is/was male nudity on TV my mom and sister have always reacted adversely to it. My friends' girlfriends have always found it than slightly comical and not something arousing at all, and have always appeared more annoyed/horrified/repulsed than entertained if one of the guys happened to strip off within eyeshot. Of course none of these were in arousing situations, and at least when I've been there and it's happened none of the guys have been visibly aroused at the time.

I do think, though, that if more women found the naked male form attractive, there would be a female equivalent of Maxim or FHM - something quite upfront about being all about the eye-candy, and more than just Playgirl available for the harder stuff for the ladies. Additionally, I'm sure those late night horrendously directed woeful-plot-containing shitty time-wasting T&A soft porns would have a lot more sausage on display.

I think it all depends on how each person views sex
Seeing the plethora of naked dick avatars here does absolutely nothing for me. In all honesty it makes me cringe and want to turn off viewing of all avatars.

yea i had to set my browser to not even load pictures from this site.

I disagree. When women show interest in sex, nudity, or anything of that sort, society throws the "slut" label on them. Just look all over JUB. Even gay guys call women sluts if they show an interest in sex. Even if a woman is just chatting a guy up at a bar, they've been called a slut on here. What the fuck!

Ages ago, you had a thread about porn, and apparently, the women you worked w/ acted like porn disgusted them. Like it was immoral. Well, I think they were fibbing a bit to save face. I mean, if they'd told you that they loved porn and couldn't get enough of it, what would you have thought? If they admitted to getting off on BDSM, double penetration, rimming, or gay porn, what would your male co-workers think about them? If they confessed to thinking about sex all the time, would that have been okay? I personally order all of my porn online b/c I don't want to get caught in a sex shop. I want to keep my "good girl" image and I really, really don't want the whole town calling me a whore. If you had asked me if I liked porn, I would've told you no. I wouldn't have pulled out my extensive collection and asked if you wanted to trade vids.

Porn isn't marketed to us, or made for us b/c women are supposed to be non-sexual. That's about it. Until society stops throwing women under the bus for being aroused, I don't think we'll see a change.

Another difference I noticed about men and women are orgasms. The majority of women don't have them and most are okay with it. You can't say the same about men. We need to cum or else sex is almost pointless. And even when we don't have intercourse with someone else, we masturbate a ton more than women do.

Some won't agree, but I think that this is nature's way of making sure we procreate. If men didn't feel the need to cum so much, there would be so much less people out there.

Honestly, if I see a hot guy, the cock is the first thing I look at but, but not the thing that turns me on.

I wouldn't be okay w/ it at all. Why fuck unless you're going to cum? Perhaps these alleged women aren't speaking up and letting their guy know that he's doing it wrong, b/c they're afraid of hurting his feelings, or they're afraid to admit they like sex. That's mere speculation, I haven't taking a poll or anything.

And even when we don't have intercourse with someone else, we masturbate a ton more than women do.

You mean, you admit to masturbating more than most women do.

I need to cum. I need sex. If Jas isn't around, I'll fuck someone else. 55% of married women cheat, orgasms are pretty damn important.

I'm not assuming that every female is just like me, but if you and I were friends or colleagues in real life, you'd believe I was the chaste, professional woman. You'd have no idea that I regularly attended sex parties, have an extensive collection of gay porn, started having sex while in middle school, and kept a regular fuck buddy. Most women just don't talk about or admit to these sort of things. (o)

It's one of societies double standards. Men are studs, women are sluts. Does that mean we don't crave sex? No, it means were great at lying about it. Does that mean we don't want to cum? No, it means we pretend to be okay w/ your performance and then we bitch about how bad you are in bed to our girlfriends. Does it mean we are into porn? No, it means we've found a fantastic hiding place for it.

Great thread! I remember a conversation I had with an old co-worker about why I found men attractive. She said she found men attractive by their smile, personality, and their sense of humor. I told her as a gay man those traits are attractive as well but they're not going to jump out at you the first time you meet them. I told her that gay men are attracted to men in the same way straight men are attracted to women if that makes any sense.

Hmm...reading the last few posts:

1. If a woman says she doesn't masturbate, she's lying.

2. If a woman says she doesn't masturbate often, she's lying.

3. If a woman says orgasms aren't important to her, she's lying.

I added the nec disclaimers and qualifiers, such as "I'm not assuming that all women are like me," "this is mere speculation, I didn't take a poll," and I used "most" and "some." However, if I was unclear then I apologize. I'm certain some women wouldn't want to be lumped in w/ my opinion or my reputation, just as I wouldn't want to be lumped in w/ theirs. I wasn't speaking for all the females in the world and I didn't mean to overstep my bounds.

You're probably right. Of course, it's not my place to call her a liar! I think it's a shame that this society still looks down on women who are honest about what they actually find attractive in a man. This is the same society that also looks down on straight men when they say they find other traits in women attractive as well. I've noticed that many of my straight male friends always chuckle when one of their friends says he finds a girl attractive when many of them think otherwise. Ah well, to each his own.

But Cosmo has always had the word sex written as SEX every time on its cover since as early as I can remember - the eighties. Surely now in 2009 we're all over that, and we know women enjoy a bit of sex as much as we do?

Ages ago, you had a thread about porn, and apparently, the women you worked w/ acted like porn disgusted them. Like it was immoral. Well, I think they were fibbing a bit to save face.

No, I think they were probably telling the truth.

One is a very conservative young woman from Qingdao in mainland China; one is a very traditional Zulu from a missionary school in the Eastern Cape, one is a very family-oriented young lady from Taiwan, one is a Nigerian woman married to a doctor and with a clutch of babies. There is one new office mate, a statistician from Johannesburg who has a touch of the wild about her and we had another one, a farmer's daughter who had no qualms about anything, but the first four I mentioned - no way. Additionally, the Zulu and the Nigerian are more religious than Jesus and very very active in their churches. They tut and moan if you so much as crack a slightly dirty joke, so porn is like right out of the question.

I wouldn't have pulled out my extensive collection and asked if you wanted to trade vids.

Points taken - we all have skeletons in our closets. However, why isn't more stuff marketed to the single internet-savvy woman who could order online with nobody knowing? Why isn't more stuff on late-night tv geared towards women - they're watching in the privacy of their own homes, so nobody would know. Surely the guys making that hideous T&A nonsense - I have issues with soft porn - must know that a market exists and that they could tap into it, so why don't they?

Gads, in most of the proper straight porn out there these days the women don't look like they're even enjoying themselves. Most of them look very wary, like there's a dude with a rubber hose just offscreen who's about to smash the living bejesus out of them if they don't perform. They look bored, scared or generally unhappy. I realise this is a tangent, but I suppose if even the performers look like they'd rather be elsewhere I'm not sure I'd bother marketing to them either.

Either way, you're a breath of fresh air, Alpha. Air heavy with the scent of the dirtiest kinds of sex, mind :p but fresh enough nevertheless ..|

I've always heard that women aren't as turned on by the purely visual aspect of porn as men are. That's why straight porno videos aimed at couples usually have a plot. Whereas plots in gay pornos are kind of irrelevant.

Not to mention Playgirl magazine. Women might buy it occasionally out of curiosity, but if it hadn't been for their gay male subscribers, it would have gone out of business long before it actually did...

Like everything else, there are exceptions, and I'm sure there are women out there who get turned on a lot by seeing naked men. We had a moderator here for a while who was definitely in that category.

EDIT: Playgirl still lives on the Web! which I found out when my reference to it got turned into a hot link...
