Just watched the first episode. But I will not continue .. the sword-fights are insulting me. Even if I had not the background I have ... that's reaaaly ridiculous.

I know, right. I don't have the background and I still found it ridiculous!

The show sucks--I'm just gonna say that now. I'm reading the series (I'm on Chainfire right now)--which is pretty awesome, definitely better than the TV version. That said, the guy playing Richard is oh so fine--not how I pictured Richard, but whatever.

I have read all of the books-- had no idea they had come up with a series for it. I am most of the way through the first episode--it's not so bad and seems to be following the book's storyline pretty well.

Who watches the show for the fights? It's because of the eye candy.

To make Piggy's point... I was home last week, nothing to do just flipping channels around, when I came across "Legend of the Seeker". Now I had never heard of this show before and certianly never knew of the book(s). And I catch a glimpse of the Seeker and holy shit is he cute. Needless to say I didnt change the channel. The whole time I'm watching the show Im muttering how much the show sucks but I am still not changing the channel. Then the Seekers shirt comes off (I assume this must happen quite often) and now I'm hooked, this guys abs are maybe the best Ive ever seen. I stayed with that show for almost the entire hour but if you put a gun to my head I couldnt tell you any characters name or what happend in that particular episode. I could tell you that the Seeker is one uber hot dude.

I watch that, partly because my boyfriend watches it (and reads the books). But Corny, I have to agree with you: only about 1 in 4 or 1 in 5 of the fighting moves are really plausible, and to me those tend to be passing moves. slamming those swords into each other like they do would just transmit tremendous pain down both parties' arms.

and other complaints....

The series is produced by Sam Rami, who also did Hercules and Xena. I am enjoying watching the series even though I have not yet read any of the Sword of Truth books by Terry Goodkind. The last episode had the hero being dominated by a leather-clad dominatrix. Legend of the Seeker is a guilty pleasure of mine much like Hercules and Xena were.

I haven't seen hercules in a long time, but I think the fighting in Xena was choreographed much better.

I thought the dominitrix episode was a hoot.

Sure the seeker guy is cute. But he totally doesn't fit the role.
