Legend Of Zelda

So its already out? Oh wow. I gotta get on that. I haven't touched the system for quite some time.

Okay.. so you're trying to get the Goron song? Uhmmm... I think you get it from the Elder.. who dies or something just before finishing it.. Then you get the rest from his son. I believe.

Yep, I was surprised too!

Oh thanks! I'll see if that works when I boot it up again tomorrow. I haven't properly played this game before. I've played it, but I was like 10 and I just messed about on it, didn't actually try to complete it.

I like it so far. :D

I'm a pretty normal guy but deep down I live breathe and die for Legend of Zelda...

Anyone see the movie "The Village?" If I could do that and leave my current life to live in some sort of Land of Hyrule.. daaaaaaaaaymn, I'd be there......

Well, I'd be there for maybe a year or two..... But not forever.

I hear ya man. Zelda is just one of those things I could give it all up for.

A Zelda village in the woods you say? Why I would so sign up. In a second.

Me too, let's go save Zelda!

I'll only go if they have a ranch. I miss those. Ordon ranch doesn't count. It was shit and not enough focus was put on it. If it delivered goats milk and cheese to the city it might. But Lon Lon Ranch or even Romani ranch had much more character. Remember the aliens abducting cows?! LOL

Figures. Everytime I play that game I always feel like I'm on one bad acid trip. Like what kind of downers and hallucinogens were the creators on when drafting the story and style for that entry into the Zelda series?

Fun and interesting game nonetheless. Just trippy as all hell.

I know, right? It's actually my favorite of all the games. It's just so fucked up. It's pretty deep too. It's brilliant.

LMAO! I kinda almost remember that, was that from Ocarina of Time? I dunno it's been awhile for me.

I used to like stabbing all of the chickens in the village with my sword. Then when they all get pissed off, rally by the hundreds and try to kill me; I would love trying to out-run and escape them. Breaking the rules on Zelda was more fun than playing the game as it was supposed to be. I went out of my way looking for all kinds of mischief and criminal activity for Link to get into.

I stayed in trouble so much on Link's Awakening that the villagers only referred to my character as "Thief" throughout the duration of the game.

When I was younger I used to mess about all the time on Zelda games. I used to make up stories and act them out within the game. I always had Link being a criminal in Ocarina of Time in Kakariko Village and then hide in the windmill. I never played the missions... but now, I find it too hard to just sit there and mess about on ANY game. So I stick to the story. If I were like I used to be when I was younger. Twilight Princess would probably be still on the first way through rather than the 10th or 11th.

I really didn't start getting into LoZ til ALttP. Since then I've been hooked... My fave game is Twilight Princess but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate the other games. I'm still envisioning a LoZ movie series that's sorta LOTR-esque. That'd be cool.

I oughta break your neck for picking TP as your favorite. lol It's such a cheap game.

I was actually arguing today with someone about a Zelda movie. Like.. give me your opinions..

In a film, should Link be a child.. or a teenager around 16-18?

Well you would have to break mine too.

I would actually put all the Zelda games I have played (OOT, MM, WW and TP) on par with each other. I enjoy playing them all.

And there shouldn't be a Zelda movie. Full stop.

oooh, boy, did I open up a floodgate. !oops!

I actually also agree they shouldn't make a zelda movie... what I mean to say is that *I* want a Zelda movie the way *I* envision it... and no more.

Can I play the part of Sheik?? (ha ha).

TP was so theatrical it may as well have been a movie...

Sorry, I disagree. A zelda movie, if done right, can be amazing. I'm not talking about some Hollywood trash director/writers touching it. I'm talkin quality writers and directors.

I'm a film nut.. Believe me, it could work.

I don't see how it could work... you'd have to take away all of the substance that is actually the make up of the game.

You wouldn't be able to have the temple, puzzle solving in a movie - that's why it's such an amazing video game.

And Sheik, Twilight Princess was so theatrical it needed voice acting. But it was definitely lacking in character. Majora's Mask is all about the people and how the moon falling is affecting them - I love that you truly have to engross yourself in all of their stories to complete the game. It's a shame that was missing from TP. Midna was a great addition though.

Well again.. A good director and writer can work all of those things into a Zelda film. Believe me, I've spent a lot of time thinking about a Zelda film. Since I was 8 I dreamed about making one.. lol

I wont lie, it's very difficult to create something that does the original source justice and if I had time right now I'd share those ideas.. but I simply don't. lol

TP was theatrical in appearance. I wont lie, the game looked beautiful. But it was just all style and no substance. The NPCs were completely boring and pointless. You couldn't feel any spirit or soul from them. They were basically robots running around in circles.

The story was pretty sloppy. It tried so hard to be original.. that it just started to make no sense and even became pointless. I mean, you had to collect pieces to this dark helmet that is basically a hat from Hell.. yet it does nothing. Midna puts it on turns into a terrible looking spider thing... It serves no real purpose. It was a waste of time.

The villain, Zant... turns out to be a looney who's nothing but a puppet for Ganon (the whole puppet thing has been done over and over and over again in the series.. This was kinda the last straw for me). And not only did Zant turn out to be a reject.. But Ganon was a complete push over.

He wasn't intimidating in the slightest. He barely did a damn thing in the game... and the biggest abomination of all was when he turned into that absolutely horrid beast Ganon... It did the OoT Ganon NO justice at all. It was just so pathetic looking and made the whole final battle a lackluster.

Speaking of the final battle, it was just a mess. First Ganon posses Zelda... (if they had any brains they should have killed Zelda off.. It would have made for a more tragic ending).. then he turns into that awful beast thing... then everyone warps to Hyrule field to gallop around on their horses.. then they duel with swords in a ring (OoT, WW).

And wow.. the worst ending ever comes up behind it.. Midna turning around saying "Am I so beautiful that you have no words left" or w/e she said...

*slaps forehead*

The best thing was halfway through the credits when Midna destroys the twilight mirror. It was the only bit that sparked an emotional response in me.

I mean, TP is a fun game to play... But for a Zelda game.. it just falls way behind OoT, MM or WW. Way WAY behind. There's just no character or soul in TP.

It was honestly the very first Zelda I put down and never picked back up again for almost a year.

After all the hype around it.. After being pushed back in its release date and cheating me out of preorder money.. The game just didn't live up to it all.. Not in the slightest. :/

But.. If you guys love it.. all the power to ya. lol

But I'm a total Nazi for substance and artistic merit.. And TP lacked both.

Wow, actual conversation about LoZ... Phoenix3 I think I just swooned! !oops!

YES! Someone else thinks Zelda ought to kick the bucket... I've been saying this for years... But remember, no one ever dies in the LoZ realm ('sept the Great Deku Tree)...
And, duh, we all know these Zelda's and Link's in all the games are basically all different people from the same bloodline, etc. So why not have one of them die? They'll just reappear in the next game as a different person...

I could go on and on but Top Model is about to come on ;)

TA!

UGH!!! I LOOoooooove the Zelda series. Ocarina of Time, and Wind Wanker are my favorites. Beautiful games!

Agreed! I love the zelda series but I didn't really like Twilight Princess at all. The game seemed to linear and predictable and although the world was huge and beautiful it felt like there was something missing. (??) Ironically the game I thought I wouldn't like, Wind Waker, turned out to be one of my favorite games of all time, it's like a poem that game:=D:
