Maybe everyone at JUB should write the FDNY pointing out how re-assured we are that their firemen carry extra hose.
I think this is awful news. I'm sure the donations that these calendars generated for the FDNY went a long way towards promoting fire safety. He had to have been 19 when he did the video, he wasn't in the FDNY at the time, and he didn't perform any sex act. I really think it's an overreaction.
As for my own personal involvement in starting the thread, I have mixed feelings. After recognizing him and making the connection to the GGW clip, I thought people on here would be interested, since as a lurker I knew this guy had many fans (myself included). I'm guessing that the Daily News' reference to "porn blogs" either referred directly to JUB, or to porn blogs that had gotten the information from my post, as I'm pretty sure I was the first person to report the connection.
Either way, it would seem like I might have "pulled the thread" that lead to this ridiculous unraveling. Now on one hand, it's kind of cool knowing that my first post might have led to a cover story on the NY Daily News. On the other hand, knowing that it led to the pulling of future donations for the FDNY really, really sucks. I'm a NYer in the metro area. "Rescue Me" is one of my favorite shows. So considering that possibility is no fun. And I feel bad for Mr. Biserta, too, because he must feel guilty about it, although I'm sure his personal life will pick up even more than it has already, lol. But I also think even had I not posted, someone else would have noticed, and it would have come out eventually.
So I guess that is that. I can only hope the FDNY will reconsider future calendars.
