Great story... thanks for saving a pet's life. I adopted two kittens (sisters) almost three years ago (one got sick and had to be put to sleep) and adopted another kitten found on a highway.

I'm not posting this because I want praise or a pat on the back. I'm hoping that maybe someone reading this will think about what they can to help in their community.

A friend of mine and I make Christmas cards for old folks homes every year. Every year, a few more friends want to start helping out.

Now, scooter, back to my original question. Do you consume cows, pigs, fishes, chickens, turkeys, or other such animals? If you are silent, I'll be forced to assume that the answer is yes.

So, you take people to task in at least one other thread for being mean and/or negative, and yet you're in here baiting the OP and potentially poised to shit on his good deeds.

You haven't proven anything, as he started this thread over eight hours ago, and his light does not indicate that he's even online to answer your question.

You also haven't made a point--you just posted a smarmy question and drew faulty conclusions from it.

Obviously, I've made a point, since a couple people already beat me to it before I could actually explain it. If there was no point, then why are people being so defensive?

Why? Because in a thread that was all about the idea of taking a negative and turning it into a positive, you felt the need to snake your way in and be a lemon.

You seem to be heading toward calling him on hypocrisy, so I figured it would be good to point out to you your own, if that's the case. You take people to task for their mean-ness/negativity in one thread, and then you come in here and seemingly head that direction yourself.

I eat meat but that doesn't mean I go out and harm dogs or cats or torture cows and pigs. It could even be argued that were it not for people eating meat then those animals would never have lived in the first place. There are very strict rules on animal welfare.

OK, so you are bitter about my make fun/ridicule thread, since you've brought it up twice now. I don't think asking him about his consumption of animals is the same thing as what I was talking about in that thread, so I don't see how I could be hypocritical.

And, I never called skooter a hypocrite. All I did was ask a question. But you have jumped to your own conclusion about what I said, so you must be thinking that he's a hypocrite. How are you going to call me out on things that you yourself perceive?

Don't attempt to project your stuff onto me. I actually found your comments in the ridicule thread to be good ones, painting you to be someone who tries not to do that to others.

And, yes, I did jump to conclusions about your intentions here. So, please enlighten me, what was your intention when you asked him if he eats meat in a thread about how he might have saved an animal's life? Help those of us who sensed a sinister intent to understand what you were really trying to say.

I think what you did was fantastic Skoot. There are too many irresponsible pet owners and animal charities like yours need all the help they can get.

Ignore the argumentative poster. He's just trying to introduce conflict where none's required by comparing apples with pears.

The place I buy my dog's food has a bulletin board with the different animals up for adoption from the local shelter. I'll see the lil dogs and cats, and wonder what it would be like to take one home so pepper can have a lil buddy. When things change, I know that is what I will do.

And I eat cow, chicken, pig, fish, and recently had a scallop for da first time. I do not see a double standard in loving a pet and consuming animal flesh. The same way I do not see being homo in a hetero world as being wrong, things are the way they are, if anyone has a problem with anything, it's up to them to do something about it, and bitching someone out is not a good way to go about that. Stanky ho's, I swear.
