Re: Leona Lewis....look out for her in 2007!

Sorry but there are thousands of "Natural Artists" who can sing live so I don't really get your arguement. People who win shows like Pop Idol or The X Factor only exist to make people like Simon Cowell wealthy.

Look at the success of all the British winners: Michelle McManus, Hearsay, One True Voice, Steve Brookstein and Shayne Ward. As for Girls Aloud (who didn't win) they're just turning into the female equivalent of Westlife with all the covers they do.

Re: Leona Lewis....look out for her in 2007!

?? and i suppose the 'Natural Artist' dont make all the fat cats at Sony and virgin millions then, it is a messed up corupt industry it happens everywhere the only reason people have a problem with simon cowell is because he is also a celebrity but it goes on ten times worse behind closed doors im sure.

Plus what are you on about with girls aloud? the competition was to create a boy band and a girl band and whoever took the christmas number 1 was the winner and Girls aloud did with 'sound of the underground' making them the winners of the show???

yes so what they do covers is that a sin? so does mariah, whitney, destinys child, and pretty much every rap star uses samples does this make them bad untalented entertainers?

Re: Leona Lewis....look out for her in 2007!

So yeah shayne ward or kelly clakson or girls aloud and possibly leona lewis may not win a grammy or a brit for song writting any day soon but they have talent and have proved this through months of live shows and pressure so cut them some slack.

Don't forget Kelly won 2 Grammys last year. These talent shows (I hate how America calls them 'reality shows') do work and superstars can emerge from them.

Re: Leona Lewis....look out for her in 2007!

Well no-one will ever convince me that manufactured music is a good thing.

Re: Leona Lewis....look out for her in 2007!

^I know. It's the worst, a reason a good 90% of these realty show contestents, fall flat within a couple of years. It's obvious they have the talent, and the countless amounts of media coverage, but they turn around and make crappy music that no one wants to hear... it's sad, that out of 5 winners, only 2 of the are actually superstars, who have the talent music and album sales to back it up? (Carrie and Kelly) and out of those 2 only one nade it Worldwide status? The show is suppose to find the next big thing, the person with the whole package (kelly, carrie) but somehow you get a winner like Mantasia, when you got runner ups like Letoya London and Jennifer Hudson (I don't like either, but compared to Mantasia, they're godesess).... Eh, season 2 didn't really have any "star" lookers.... but Season 5 had Kellie, Daughtry, Paris and Kathrine, but some grandpa looking dude wins, who won't make it!? The show isn't fair in it's voting system, a reason why record sales never match up with winning stats (other than season 1) the other seasons you see 2nd 3rd 4th 5th place contestants being more successful than the winner! lmao AI has turned into a joke, and has been a joke since season 1 but, started making a comback around S4 but S5 lost it all!! lol GOD I ramble.. sorry haha

Back to Leona! lmao

Introducing Leona Lewis

Leona Louise Lewis is a 21 year old English singer and songwriter, who was the winner of the third series of the The X Factor.

Her debut single, "A Moment like This" was released on 20 December 2006. The single was also available as a digital download from midnight on 17 December and broke a world record after it was downloaded fifty thousand times in thirty minutes.

Wow i was on youtube watching videos and i looked up "A Moment Like This" because thats the best winner song of AI (IMO) and i hadn't heard it in a long time.

I listened to Kellys version but i say another version from a person called Leona Lewis, so i clicked it and my jaw fell to the floor after hearing her cover loads of classics flawlessly. Her high notes give me goosebumps and its amazing how she can hold the notes on key.

To say that this young lady has an incredible voice is a criminal understatement.

She could be huge with the right management. Clive Davis signed her.

Check her out and prepare to be blown away,

(The entire song but at 4:30s thats where the magic happens )

This guy was her competition in the finale of the X Factor, his name is Ray, i find him quite adorable,

offtopic:

How it all started for Leona,

Re: Introducing Leona Lewis

Leona was amazing throughout the whole series of X Factor and i only hope that when she releases her follow up material its good enough for her voice. She has the potential to be as big as Mariah etc as long as she has the right guidance.

Re: Introducing Leona Lewis

I'm surprised that she hasn't had anythong out yet (at least to my knowledge whic is far from exhaustive).

In a way I'm glad though, as they could have easily rushed an album of cover versions like they did with the runners up (runner ups???)

Re: Introducing Leona Lewis

She has a good voice. Hopefully America will take her to heart, then she can move there and rid this island of her anodyne style of pop ramblings.

Re: Introducing Leona Lewis

She has an amazing voice. Although i was never a fan of AMLT

She is releasing the album October time apparently

Re: Introducing Leona Lewis

October?

Well she should have a single out now, shouldnt she?

She really needs a shot at the business.

What a voice.

With the right songs she can be huge.

Leona Lewis' 'Bleeding Love'

I'm not sure if she has any fans on this board but she has a new single out called 'Bleeding Love'. I love it!

Here is a link to hear it!

Re: Leona Lewis' 'Bleeding Love'

I Heard it on perezhilton, i dont know why i give the time of day to go to his site, but i do, her voice is beautiful, i listened to that song over and over, its just a georgus song

Re: Leona Lewis' 'Bleeding Love'

I love the song! You can hear the influence of other artist yet it sounds soo Leona.

You better believe she has at least one fan on this board, me (!).

At first i was worried that they would give her crappy material and if i was managing her i would have made her do a cover album of all the songs she sang on X Factor just so Americans can get see how incredible she is; that way when she does he first solo album it would be a success.

Way to go Leona.

I don't quite like the name of the song but the song itself is good. I hope she has songs where she is allowed to just belt out the high notes. She is brilliant at that.

I'm happy for her.

Bleeding Love,

I listened to it again and :( i really don't think it can crack billboard top 10, which is so unfortunate. It took forever to finally get a single out and this is the best Clive Davis or whoerver is managing her could get. I mean its a nice song, but it isnt a song to start a persons career IMO.

Time will tell if America will embrace her.
This song would have done very well if it was 1991

Re: Introducing Leona Lewis

I really like the song! I think with the right marketing it could be huge but I think this song will most likely do well on the Adult Contemporary chart and maybe only slightly well on the pop charts.

But I'm pretty sure the album will sell well. Ne-Yo, Kanye West etc. It's bound to be good.

Re: Introducing Leona Lewis

She is great. Leona is one of the few artists that made me an instant fan from the first time i saw them and heard them sing. Britney, Spice Girls, Celine Dion are some others.

Ok i am listening to it for the 10th time and i love it now. Its definitely what you caller a "grower." The lyrics are strong and a person can relate to it. Once you read the lyrics you realize how deep it is. This is some good stuff LOL.

I already know the chorus LOL.

Go Leona go :)

The video better rock. And they need to start getting her out there so people can know her. She needs Rihanna type publicity.

Re: Introducing Leona Lewis

Well, she has Simon and Clive Davis behind her. The girl is going to be huge. But I'm worried that the younger audience may not click with her. I think she'd do better with the older crowd. Like college age and up.
