Re: Leona Lewis' 'Bleeding Love'

Loved it. Nice and smooth.

Re: Introducing Leona Lewis

Leona is a stunning vocalist and she'll no doubt be a star :D Her version of "A Moment Like This" was great but I still prefer Kelly's original though.

Well Kelly's version is a classic IMO. Leona's version was just ok to me. However it was, "All By Myself" thats sold me.

She really should have done a cover album before she did all new material.

America needs to hear her sing, "I Will Always Love You" and "Summertime" and "All By Myself."

Leona's voice is made for the power ballad.

Re: Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love: Yes or No?

Annoyingly it is growing on me, it isn't my typical genre of music but i am gonna vote yes

Re: Introducing Leona Lewis

They should be filming the video in 2 weeks (!)

Its a real slow grower but its worth the wait.

As much as i like the song, i still feel Clive and the team could have come up with a more powerful debut single to let American know that Leona is here, because this girl can SANG LOL.

But then come to think of it Whitney's debut single was a dance track and it worked for her so im sure Clive knows what he is doing :)

Quote from a music insider column,

Do you wish that Celine would ditch Vegas for the recording studio? Do you rue the day that Whitney ever met Bobby Bloody Brown? Do you pray that Mariah would stop messing around with all those silly rappers? If you answered "yes" to any of the above, you'll probably find something to love on Leona Lewis' debut album.

The X Factor champion has been locked away in an LA recording studio for the last nine months making sure her debut LP doesn't follow Steve Brookstein's Heart and Soul into the 99p section at Woolies. You want the good news? Her hook-ups with a host of A-list hitmaking talent – Jam & Lewis (Janet Jackson, Human League), Dallas Austin (TLC, Madonna, Sugababes) and Diane Warren (everyone who's ever released a power ballad) – seem to have paid off.

DS is proud to present a sneak preview of Leona's self-titled album, which will be released on November 5.

'Whatever It Takes'
This chipper slice of soul-pop, anchored by a surprisingly bone-shaking beat, is what we’d imagine Simon Cowell pops on the "hi-fi" if he’s having trouble getting up in the morning. "Oh blast! Not another bloody Idol audition," he probably cusses. "But at least I've got 'Whatever It Takes' to pep me up." Leona hits notes that will make Christina Aguilera blush; the orchestral washes ooze luxuriance and a gospel choir swoops in after two-and-a-half minutes to complete the pleasant-but-rousing effect.

'The First Time Ever I Saw Her Face'
Leona's string-drenched cover of the Ewan MacColl classic is as tasteful as an aromatherapy candle in a fetching shade of magnolia. "I felt the earth turn in my hand," she croons, proving once and for all that she can "do" restrained – something Celine Dion failed to convince us when she recorded this song in the late nineties.

'Yesterday’
Worry not! You will not be funding the Sir Paul McCartney Hair Dye fund by downloading this tune, for it is an original song. This 'Yesterday' is a smoochy R&B slow jam which sounds like the fourth single from a mid-nineties Mariah Carey album. Still, its soaring climax proves that La Lewis is no slacker in the vocal showboating department.

She is pretty,

Re: Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love: Yes or No?

i actually really like it. i always expected her to do some kind of r'n'b ish stuff, i dont really know how to describe this but its good. im glad she gets to show off her voice at the end - you can tell she's improved so much since the x factor

Re: Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love: Yes or No?

I love it. I think it is def a grower. It sounds pretty good the first time you hear it but then it kinda sneaks up on you!

Re: Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love: Yes or No?

haha, yeah 24 hours on and i really like it!
It's not my typical genre, but as my profile states 'i am open to anything'

Re: Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love: Yes or No?

Damn it! I'm starting to like this shit alot lol.

Spirit

The Making of the, "Bleeding Lovee" video,

The single will officially be released on the 22nd of October. I am happy she is releasing it after the Grammy cut off because Best new artist this year is too competitive this year, not saying that she couldnt compete because she can its just that there is no rush and Clive knows what he is doing.

2008-09 will be Leonas time to shine.

The name of her debut album is, "SPIRIT" and will be out on the 5th of November 2007 (!) in the UK and early 2008 in the US.

Rumored album track, Its All For You,

The album and everything got pushed back a little because, she had tonsillitis. The plan was for her to debut on the American Idol semi final show this year. Wow, how huge would that have been with all of America and the world watching. But she got sick but all good things come in time and Leona will do just fine :)

Re: Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love: Yes or No?

Re: Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love: Yes or No?

I don't liike it. It's bland. It also sounds worryingly like they've tried to make it sound 'Timbaland'.
