Re: Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love: Yes or No?

I’ve heard Mariah do her Minnie Riperton high notes through the years, now I’d love to hear Leona's! Let’s hope she’ll show ‘em off on American Idol!

22-year-old Leona Lewis is the only solo pop female recording artist from the UK who scored a #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 since Sheena Easton over 25 years ago with “Morning Train (9 to 5)” in the year 1981…Leona Lewis wasn’t even born yet.

“Bleeding Love” would be the signature song of Leona Lewis if she doesn’t have any more hits here in the future, but I hope she has more hits to come, I ’d love to hear more from that pop princess!

if She releases "Better In Time" in the US, it will be a Hit.......a big hit..

Re: Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love: Yes or No?

^I doubt that. Mariah and Madonna just released their songs on Itunes and are currently the Number 1 and 2 songs. Leona needs a ton more airplay to stay at Number 1.

Leona is getting a ton of airplay...last i heard, i heard it 7 times on the radio just today.....its the most requested and played song up here in northeast ohio

Whoops! Actually Kim Wilde (also a UK native) scored a #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with "You Keep Me Hangin' On" in 1987...Leona was only about two years old then.

I live very near Seattle and the main Pop/R&B/Hop-Hop radio station is from the big city. I notice that "Bleeding Love" is in heavy rotation on there, wooohooooo!

She's currently #11.

Re: Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love: Yes or No?

I really love the album! I think she has more than a few Number 1 hits on it. 'Take a Bow', 'Better in Time', 'The Best You Never Had', 'Yesterday'...Great album!

Re: Whose Buying Leona Lewis' Album?

i already have it and its great shes really talented and a fantastic person

Re: Whose Buying Leona Lewis' Album?

nah I didn't vote for her. Bleedin' Love didn't do anything for me. glad she's doing well though!

Re: Whose Buying Leona Lewis' Album?

I have it, but I'll probably buy it, since I love it so much (which comes as a surprise as I can't stand most female artists....well, I should say I can take it or leave it, as female R&B/pop artists bore me)

Re: Whose Buying Leona Lewis' Album?

I wasn't planning on it, but I heard the single on the radio yesterday, so now I'm tempted.

Re: Whose Buying Leona Lewis' Album?

I bought it! Love it! Although I miss 'Homeless' and 'The Best You Never Had'!!

Re: Introducing Leona Lewis

Leona's 'Spirit' is expected to enter the charts next week at Number 1! The first British female singer to debut at Number 1!

Re: Whose Buying Leona Lewis' Album?

the album grew on me gradually...it took awhile, to be honest. the best tracks are yesterday, bleeding love, angel, and better in time.

Re: Whose Buying Leona Lewis' Album?

I bought it! its amazing. lol, its supposed to debut on the Billboard 200 at No. 1 based on 1st day sales!! GO LEONA

Re: Introducing Leona Lewis

Yay, Leona is still number one in the entire world this week, and she bounced back from 4 to 2 on the US billboard.

Re: Introducing Leona Lewis

yeah i loved her x factor performances! i discovered them on youtube just a few months before she became really known in the US. i like bleeding love & a couple other songs but i dont really like the album as a whole. it seems like its missing a lot. i think they have her too many midtempo pop songs. she needs those power ballads and a few more bleeding love's with harder beats for the US market. but shes been doing well here huh? good for her.

yeah i think they need to come out with her recording covers of the songs she sang on x factor, but good thing they didnt do that first, she cant establish herself as a new artist with covers. and if she does do it i dont think it will sell well. but i would get it!

i think she has a great voice & a promising career but with her personality i dont know i she will become really popular, at least in the US. i like how shes a nice girl but she can get boring, when shes talking you just want to zone out sometimes.

I found her by accident and spent hours listening to her X Factor performances on youtube.

but i dont really like the album as a whole.

I know save for a few songs it was a complete bore.

she needs those power ballads and a few more bleeding love's with harder beats for the US market.

I know, what were they thinking whoever wrote for her album. She can hit some unbelievable notes and she is held back by the songs on the album.

I would have prefered her cover a couple songs like she did on X Factor so that people can see how she can belt. Spirit as it was would not have done well in the US and thats why they added new songs and reworked some of the originals for the US.

I didnt mean a cover album, i meant an origianl album with one or 2 covers from X Factor just so the US can see this girl has pipes and i beg to differ it would sell.

All By Myself

I Will Always Love You ( well maybe not that one because Whotney already did the damn thing lol)

When she debuts on American Idol i want her to do a song showcasing her entire range so that people will sit bavk and go WOW who is this chick.

but with her personality i dont know i she will become really popular,

Yup i like her but other than her voice there is not much else going on there so she needs to make an effort to start connecting with the public.

I still think she has a good shot at Best New Artist at the Grammys next year.
