Re: Leona Lewis is about the get her licence to ki

I like my fair share of Beyonce but I'm nowhere near her biggest fan. Why exactly does it seem like all of you guys dislike her, I'm curious?

Shes Terribly overrated.

Re: Leona Lewis is about the get her licence to ki

^which of course makes her a talentless waste of time. Sure. Okay.

I have never heard of this Leona Lewis woman. Hope she doesn't fuck it up, I guess.

Re: Leona Lewis is about the get her licence to ki

Better in Time is going to be added to radio around July 14th...I think it's gonna be huge. Not as huge as Bleeding Love but it should do great.

I can't wait to see what this song sounds like!

Re: Leona Lewis is about the get her licence to ki

I havnt bought a single Beyonce album after she went solo, although a few of her songs are really goo, most of them are too overdone with the production, and she tries far too hard that she looks uncomfortable in her videos and performances.

I've never gotten the impression that she looks terribly uncomfortable in her performances or videos. Trying too hard to impress, yes (Deja Vu, The second version of Listen, and the live performance of Emotion with Celine Dion). Could you point out a few videos or performances where seems uncomfortable? When she is speaking on camera or for an award, I get the feeling of her akwardness, but she admits she does not speak well in front of audiences as well as being shy.

As far as Leona Lewis is concerned, I cannot wait to hear what she can do...|

Re: Leona Lewis is about the get her licence to ki

hopefully they give leona an upbeat song to do, shes too ballad-ey......

Re: Leona Lewis is about the get her licence to ki

Leona's next single in England is 'Forgive Me'.

Re: Introducing Leona Lewis

Just a quick update. 'Bleeding Love' has gone double platinum and is on it's way to triple platinum. 'Spirit' is gold and on it's way to platinum.

'Better in Time' is the new single! Here is the link to the video! Rolling Stone just reviewed it and gave it 3 out of 4 stars! How lovely! It's pretty much the same video as the UK version but they took out the horse section as it reminded people of Mariah's 'Butterfly' video. And it's a slightly different arrangement!

It should be ready to be added to radio about the second week of July!

Here are some videos of Leona performing at Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday party:

Bleeding Love (notice the new runs she added!)

Re: Introducing Leona Lewis

This kinda burst my bubble a little but i still believe she has a good chance at getting Best New Artist especially since Clive Davis is grooming her.

Anyway back to the bubble burster.

I just read some early Grammy predictions and the experts all agree she has a pretty voice but that she has no personality.

As much as i like her it is true, when she is not singing there is nothing really there.

All her interviews are snooze fest but she cute and a little funny but needs more.

You see no matter how good a voice you have if you are unable to connect with the public its not gonna work.

Rihanna cant hit the notes Leona can; but she is able to connect with the world thus having so much success at 20.

Anyways this is what they had to say about Leona and Grammy,

Grammy potential: Absolutely. Lewis is a lock for a number of nominations, and her Grammy campaigning actually began at last year's awards, as Lewis was the showcase act at Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party. Davis may no longer head J Records, but there's plenty of goodwill toward the exec, and Lewis has proven to have staying power, as her album, "Spirit," is still in the Top 20 more than two months after it was released.

Grammy deserving: Not so much. On its own, "Bleeding Love," a slow-building throwback of a tune, is worthy of a nod or two, but "Spirit" is little more than a showcase for a pretty voice, failing to establish much of a personality for the budding star.

Re: Introducing Leona Lewis

I think people need to let go of "Bleeding Love".

"Better In Time" is such a nice song, but no one seems to even be paying attention to it b/c they're not over "Bleeding Love".

Re: Introducing Leona Lewis

Well, they haven't even released 'Better in Time' to radio yet. I think it will do pretty good. Probably not as big as 'Bleeding Love' but when the album was released on Itunes, 'Better in Time' made it to the Top 10.

If Leona doesn't win Best New Artist cause she's not as outspoken or whatever as some other talentless hack *coughAmyWhinehousecough*, I'll be really pissed.

How long are they gonna wait to release it? "Bleeding Love"'s been out for a long time now. I hope it does well. They seem to be waiting for "Bleeding Love" to pass, which doesn't seem like anytime soon.

Re: Introducing Leona Lewis

I heard it was going to be added to radio next week or the week after.

Re: Introducing Leona Lewis

'Spirit' is officially PLATINUM!!!

That's a video of Leona performing at the NRJ Music Tour in France! She sounded absolutely amazing! Probably one of my favorite performances yet!

Re: Introducing Leona Lewis

I just adore her "non-threatening" personality. And, I believe that personality of hers to be true, that she's not being pretentious at all.

It just freaks me out and mesmerizes me at the same time looking at this lovely looking girl with a huge powerful voice to go along with the look, I mean I'm like imagining Tinkerbell with Aretha pipes, you know what I mean?

That's a clip of Leona performing one of my favorites 'Homeless' live!!

Re: Introducing Leona Lewis

Better in Time is my favourite song right now. It's being released to US and Canada radio stations on July 15th, crossing my fingers for it's success!

Re: Introducing Leona Lewis

Oh! That's the date! I can't wait! I know it's going to be huge!

Better in Time
LEONA LEWIS
Producer(s): J.R. Rotem
Label: Syco/J/Sony BMG

Five months ago we loftily predicted that Leona Lewis was destined to become the top newcomer of the year. But who could have seen the overwhelming force field of "Bleeding Love," striking through playlist records at top 40, adult top 40, AC, rhythmic, even Latin? Now it's time to let go—before the song burns to a crisp—and rest assured, there are plenty more high achievers on No. 1 CD "Spirit." "Better in Time" is of equal caliber to its predecessor, with a one-listen hook, elegant chug-along melody, a lyric about healing ("Thought I couldn't live without you/It's gonna hurt when it heals too") and Lewis' unquestionably emotive vocal versatility. "Better" is as good as "Bleeding" and an equal bid for No. 1. Girl, start clearing room for a 2009 Grammy sweep. —Chuck Taylor
