I don't think she, her management, or her label are trying enough either. They just wanted to make a classic voice for the 2000s.

Her voice is strong and powerful. All the comparisons to Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, and Mariah Carey (her inspirations) were inevitable and that's the direction they tried to take her in....POWER BALLAD DIVA!

But she has much more potential. Spirit was just a blah record to me. It needed more spunk, attitude, and more uptempo. At least she has producers willing and waiting to work with her.

I'm a big, big Leona fan, so I'm excited to see what she has in store. :)

the amount of work singers have to do, give the girl a break.

I know my station played the hell out of Bleeding Love, Better In Time, AND I Will Be. Just because all of her singles didn't go to #1 or even Top 10 doesn't mean they weren't successful.

Can I just say I think this is my favourite song EVER!

It's not a particularly happy song which is ironic but I don't know, it just hit me straight away and I think Miss Lewis should be very proud of what she has achieved here. :=D::gogirl:

Seriously cannot wait for the new album!!!

i think its very lackluster. happy aint got nothin on bleeding love. and i doubt happy will be a hit in the us.

"I Got You" is amazing, just listened to it there!!!

"Stone Hearts" isn't on the album though, unfortunately...

His work has been sounding familiar.

But unlike you, I like the song. Kinda.

I'd give the song a 7/10.

It is *kinda* boring, but it's OK.

"Stone Hearts" is great, but lyrically it's missing something I think. I feel like it's too repetitive. It's extremely beautiful though and the simplicity might compliment it I guess. I would have to hear a different version to be sure.

"I Got You" is the kind of music I have been wanting to hear from Leona - sort of upbeat but with astounding vocals too!

"Happy" I think lacks in the vocals part - the end is amazing, but it lacks something in the beginning and I don't like the end of this line. "So what if I break down" it just doesn't sit right with me.

"Perfect Stranger" should have been on the album too, it would be nice for Leona to be able to prove herself to be more versatile. "I Got You" sort of does that, but she needs something to back it up. Something like "Perfect Stranger"

I think the album is going to be good though.

I have her book, oh and can you believe she got punched in the face at her book signing yesterday?! :mad:

I thought she was amazing until i saw her onstage with Mary J, beyonce, mariah and the others. She has a goose tone, and isnt as amazing as people make out. Shes not in the whiteny/mariah/beyonce legue she thinks she is. Not that she isnt good.

I have never heard of a goose tone. Could you please enlighten me? Also, where has she ever made a statement about how good she thought she was? Anyway, it's funny how Beyonce was put in the same category as Whitney and Mariah when anyone with any kind of musical knowledge knows that she has never been near their level, at least when they were in their primes.

Leona doesn't think she's good. That is part of her charm.

Leona thinks shes a Diva but gives off the "oh im not good" because she has been told to... its what sells. People dont want to know people are a bitch. I mean, whitney is only a bitch now because she has already made it.

Also the goose tone is the thing she does when she breaks a note and goes up. Watch the cancer thing with beyonce, mariah and all the others and you will know what im on about.
